The CBT exercise will be followed by interviews for successful candidates, as part of the Fund’s commitment to merit-based career progression and capacity development.

The exercise will continue to March 30, 2026, for officers on CONITFSS Levels 11 to 13 at the Yakubu Gowon Auditorium, while officers on CONITFSS Level 14 are scheduled to sit for their examination on April 1, 2026, at the same venue.

SUPA Trainees Sit for City & Guilds Mock Exams Nationwide

Thousands of trainees under the Skill Up Artisans (SUPA) Programme on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, participated in City & Guilds mock examinations across Nigeria, marking a major step towards obtaining internationally recognised certification.

The examinations were conducted in 34 accredited centres and ITF Area Offices nationwide, with participants carefully selected based on their outstanding performance in both theoretical and practical aspects of the training. The mock tests covered nine key trades, including welding and fabrication, plumbing and pipefitting, scaffolding, electrical installation, carpentry, auto mechanics, cybersecurity, housekeeping, and hospitality services.

Speaking during visits to selected centres, the Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, commended City & Guilds for its strong partnership with the Fund. He described the exercise as a clear demonstration of ITF’s commitment to equipping Nigerian artisans with globally competitive skills and certifications.

Dr. Ogun further announced that the 2026 phase of the SUPA programme will commence in the coming weeks, following the successful screening of applicants conducted in late 2025. He reiterated ITF’s resolve to expand access to skills training for Nigerian youths, urging more interested participants to take advantage of the programme.

He also revealed that the ITF is engaging additional international certification bodies to broaden opportunities for trainees, ensuring that graduates of the SUPA programme are well-positioned to compete effectively in both local and global labour markets.

ITF Director, 21 Staff Certified as City & Guilds Examiners

In a major stride toward global skills certification, a Director of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mrs. Olayinka Shodunke, alongside 21 staff members, has been certified as international examiners by the City & Guilds of London Institute.

The certification follows ITF’s approval as a City & Guilds Examination Centre, empowering the Fund to assess and award internationally recognised qualifications across key technical fields. This milestone strengthens ITF’s capacity to deliver world-class training and assessment in line with global standards.

Speaking on the development, Mrs. Shodunke described it as a landmark achievement made possible by the visionary leadership of the Director-General, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun. She noted that the certification will significantly boost the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Programme, enabling trainees to earn globally recognised qualifications and compete for decent jobs locally and internationally.

With City & Guilds certification now available within ITF, Nigerian artisans are better positioned to work, excel, and “japa in style” — with skills and credentials that meet international benchmarks. 🌍🔧🎓
