The Male Man in Perspective
I carry a profound burden for the male man, specifically for the boy child in this generation. My desire is to see him grow into full maturity, embracing a deep sense of responsibility towards his world. As I have come to understand, the male man is divinely ordained as a being of responsibility. This journey of responsibility began at the dawn of creation with Adam, the first man, who was entrusted by God to steward and care for the earth. The woman, Eve, was created only after Adam had demonstrated his ability to manage this responsibility, showing the critical role that the male man plays in Godโs agenda.
This discussion, however, is not about relationships or marriage; it extends far beyond that. It is about recognizing the strategic role the male man has been assigned in the blueprint for humanity. Contrary to the prevailing patriarchal systems in our world, true responsibility on the part of men does not subjugate but rather creates an environment where women, children, and society at large can thrive. When men embody responsibility, it leads to visionary leadership, genuine love, and steadfast support. But where does this journey towards responsible manhood begin?
Every boy is shaped by the dominant influences in his life. Ideally, this influence comes from a father or, as is increasingly common, from society at large. My concern arises from the growing number of dysfunctional men populating our social structures todayโwhether in homes, corporations, businesses, or even religious institutions like the church. This is deeply troubling because men, by design, are meant to be pillars of strength, stability, and wisdom in their various spheres of influence. Yet many are falling short of this divine mandate. The pressing question is: where did things go wrong, and how can we reverse this disturbing trend?
The root of the issue lies in a lack of purpose. A man who does not understand his purpose can never fully assume responsibility. To restore the male man to his rightful role, we must help him rediscover his identityโan identity that is deeply connected to God's original intention for him. Men must view themselves through the lens of Godโs design: as stewards of creation, protectors of the family unit, and builders of society. This perspective transcends superficial markers like wealth, status, and power, instead prioritizing integrity, character, and vision as the defining attributes of true manhood.
The journey to maturity begins in childhood. Boys must be nurtured with a clear understanding of what it means to be a man in God's eyes. This requires deliberate training, mentorship, and positive role modeling from men who themselves understand and embody their divine role. Fathers, uncles, mentors, and community leaders bear the responsibility of guiding the next generation of men. For the male man to rise to his God-given responsibility, he must be equipped, nurtured, and shown what true leadership looks like. Unfortunately, this is where society often falls short.
In today's world, many boys are raised in homes where fathers are either absent or emotionally disengaged. The resulting void is often filled by a culture that promotes toxic masculinity, glorifies selfishness, and distorts the true meaning of manhood. These negative influences only serve to create men who are disconnected from their true purpose and role in society. Instead of being protectors and leaders, many become mere consumers in a world they were meant to build and sustain.
Despite this, there is hope. A new generation of men is emergingโmen who recognize the need for change, who are ready to reclaim their responsibility, and who are committed to restoring the broken foundations. The rebuilding of the male man is not merely a societal necessity; it is a divine mandate. And it begins with you and me.
We must commit ourselves to raising a generation of men who understand that responsibility is not a burden but a privilege. It is in accepting responsibility that a man discovers his true strength and fulfillment. When a man steps into his role as a leader under Godโs guidance, everything else falls into placeโhis relationships, his work, and his contributions to society.
Let us raise boys who are not just focused on success but on significance. Boys who will grow into men with a profound understanding of their purpose, driven by a deep love for God, and a resolute sense of duty to humanity. This is the vision for the male man in perspectiveโa vision that has the potential to change the world, one responsible man at a time.
