Public Disclaimer: Fraudulent Facebook Account & Scam Alerts

The attention of Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, Executive Chairman, Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS), has been drawn to a fraudulent Facebook account created and operated by an unknown person impersonating him.

The impostor has been:

- Posing as Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, Executive Chairman, PSIRS
- Attempting to defraud unsuspecting friends, family, colleagues and associates
- Using the following phone number in furtherance of this scam: 0704 583 0401

We hereby state clearly that:

1. Dr. Jim Pam Wayas has not authorised any person or platform to solicit money, financial assistance, or any form of payment on his behalf via Facebook or any social media platform.
2. The Facebook account currently being used for such solicitations is fraudulent and should be ignored.
3. Any message, request, or demand for money or personal information purportedly from Dr. Jim Pam Wayas via the above phone number or the said Facebook account is not from him and should be treated as a scam.

All friends, family members, colleagues, associates, and the general public are hereby advised to exercise utmost caution and:

- Refrain from engaging with such messages or calls
- Not share personal or financial information
- Not make any payments or transfers based on such communications

PLATEAU STATE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR INDIVIDUAL FILING OF RETURNS

In light of the unfortunate unrest that has disrupted businesses and economic activities in Jos North Local Government Area, the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS) has announced an extension of the deadline for individuals filing their annual income tax returns.

The new deadline is now set for April 21, 2026, extending the original due date of March 31, 2026, by three weeks. This decision aims to provide individuals with additional time to complete and submit accurate tax returns successfully.

Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, the Executive Chairman of PSIRS, stated, “Our priority is to ensure that taxpayers have the opportunity to fulfil their civic duty without the pressure of disruption caused by unforeseen circumstances. We encourage everyone to utilise this extension to prepare and file their returns diligently.”

Online Filing: Individuals are reminded that all tax filings can be completed through the PSIRS official eTax portal to ensure compliance and streamline processing.
