AFIJIO LOCAL GOVERNMENT, AFIJIO WEST LOCAL COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT AREA (LCDA), LEGISLATIVE ARM, MUSLIM COMMUNITY, FAMILY AND FRIENDS CELEBRATE DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION AND GENERAL SERVICES, MR. AKADI MARUF DELE, ON RETIREMENT AFTER YEARS OF MERITORIOUS SERVICE
The Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Afijio Local Government, Mr. Akadi Maruf Dele, has been celebrated in grand style as he retired from the Oyo State Civil Service after years of dedicated, meritorious and unblemished service.
The memorable three-in-one retirement celebration was jointly organised by the Legislative Arm of Afijio Local Government, the Muslim Community of Afijio Local Government through a special Jumat service held in his honour, and the Management and Staff of Afijio Local Government and Afijio West Local Council Development Area (LCDA). Family members, friends, associates and well-wishers also joined in celebrating the distinguished administrator for his outstanding service to humanity and the civil service.
The event attracted political office holders, management staff, legislators, traditional rulers, religious leaders, members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), family members, friends, colleagues and other dignitaries who gathered to honour a man whose career was defined by diligence, professionalism, integrity and selfless service. The
presence of NULGE added colour to the occasion as the union joined other well-wishers in making the retirement celebration a memorable one for the retiring Director.
Tributes poured in from the Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Olufemi Aikomo, his Vice, Hon. Adegoke Tajudeen Aderemi, The Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Alhaji Sodiq K. Abiodun, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration of Afijio West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alhaja Gbadamosi, and other dignitaries. They
described Mr. Akadi Maruf Dele as a seasoned administrator, an exemplary public servant and an exceptional leader whose wealth of experience, professionalism and sound administrative acumen contributed significantly to the effective administration and development of Afijio Local Government. They noted that his calm disposition, integrity, transparency, accountability and unwavering commitment to excellence earned him the admiration, confidence and respect of colleagues, political office holders and members of the public throughout his distinguished career.
They further commended his remarkable service in the Oyo State Civil Service, describing his retirement without any record of misconduct as a rare achievement and a reflection of his impeccable character, discipline, honesty and unwavering dedication to public service. According to them, his career remains a shining example for both serving and aspiring civil servants.
The Legislative Arm of Afijio Local Government praised the retired Director for his cordial working relationship with elected officials and staff, noting that his guidance and administrative support contributed immensely to the smooth operation of the council.
During the special Jumat service, the Muslim Community of Afijio Local Government offered prayers for Allah's continued protection, guidance and abundant blessings upon Mr. Akadi Maruf Dele and his family. They thanked
Almighty Allah for granting him a successful career, good health and the grace to retire honourably after years of faithful service.
The Management and Staff of Afijio Local Government and Afijio West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) paid glowing tributes to Mr. Akadi, describing him as a dependable mentor, a father figure, an outstanding administrator and a bridge-builder whose legacy of hard work, humility, discipline and dedication will continue to inspire generations of public servants.
Family members, friends and associates expressed gratitude to Almighty God for preserving him throughout his years of service and celebrated his retirement in good health. They prayed that the new phase of his life would be filled with peace, divine favour, fulfilment, sound health and continued happiness.
The celebration featured prayers, goodwill messages, presentation of gifts and joyous entertainment as guests celebrated the remarkable career and enduring legacy of Mr. Akadi Maruf Dele, whose invaluable contributions to the Oyo State Civil Service, Afijio Local Government and Afijio West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) will remain a lasting reference point in public administration.
