Today’s International Youth Day Conference 2026, convened by the Kaduna State Government through the Ministry of Youth Development, has been a profound reminder of the extraordinary promise that resides in our young people. I left the opening events deeply inspired by the brilliance, creativity, courage and determination they have demonstrated. I am immensely proud of the youths of Kaduna State. Their ideas, innovations and entrepreneurial imagination affirm a truth at the heart of our administration’s philosophy: that no investment yields a greater dividend for society than the deliberate cultivation of its young people.

The testimonies of beneficiaries of our technology support initiatives were particularly heartening. Their appreciation of our interventions, and their recognition of the unprecedented scale of our investment in youth development among Nigerian states, strengthen our conviction that we must remain ambitious, purposeful and relentless in this endeavour.

We will therefore continue to expand access to digital skills, technology, entrepreneurship and the resources required to transform ingenuity into enterprise, aspiration into opportunity, and talent into sustainable livelihoods.

In keeping with the spirit of International Youth Day and our commitment to inclusive youth empowerment, following their presentations of innovative projects at today’s event, we are supporting young people who distinguished themselves with ₦3 million each. Facilitated through the Ministry of Youth Development, the funding will help them scale up their ventures and take their innovations to the next level. This is more than financial support; it is a vote of confidence in their talent and potential to shape Kaduna’s future.

Kaduna Update: Governor Uba Sani is currently chairing the Kaduna State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, leading discussions on policies and decisions aimed at advancing development, improving public service delivery, and enhancing the well-being of the people of Kaduna State.

Today, I was pleased to present CNG-powered buses to the Kaduna State chapters and branches of five institutions of critical importance to our collective wellbeing: the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), and Kaduna State University (KASU). These institutions occupy indispensable positions in our society. Through healthcare, justice, journalism, education and corrections, they help sustain the foundations of a functional, secure and progressive society. I commend their leadership and members for their professionalism, dedication and steadfast commitment to public service.

The provision of these operational vehicles is intended to strengthen mobility, improve institutional efficiency and enable these organisations to discharge their responsibilities more effectively. It is also a practical expression of our administration’s belief that meaningful governance is strengthened by constructive partnerships with the institutions that serve our people.

The leadership of the beneficiary organisations expressed appreciation for the support of our administration and for the enabling environment we continue to foster. Their commendation reinforces our conviction that government works best when it listens, collaborates and builds enduring relationships with institutions across society.

We shall continue to deepen these partnerships and support institutions whose work advances the welfare, stability and development of Kaduna State. Our shared objective remains clear: to build a state in which institutions are strengthened, professionals are empowered, and every citizen has greater opportunity to thrive.
