*NO TO IMPOSITION: ALH. MOSHOOD ADEOTI ADVOCATES FOR LEVEL PLAYING FIELD AT ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE*
IWO, OSUN STATE — In a powerful blend of spiritual guidance and political advocacy, prominent leader Alh. Moshood Adeoti hosted his annual Ramadan Lecture, using the platform to call for absolute transparency in the upcoming primaries while receiving major infrastructure assurances from the state government.
The event, which drew a large crowd of faithful and political associates, featured Sheikh Mukodam Husein Akinola as the Guest Lecturer and was chaired by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Bobagunwa Teslim Igbalaye.
A Call for Democratic Fairness
Delivering his remarks during the session, Alh. Adeoti emphasized that the strength of the party and the government lies in the will of the people. He issued a stern warning against the "imposition of candidates," asserting that such practices undermine the essence of democracy.
"We must ensure an open playground for all aspirants," Adeoti stated. "Whether for the National Assembly or the State Assemblies, every aspirant deserves a fair chance to test their popularity. When we allow a level playing field, we guarantee that only the best and most popular candidates represent us."
Infrastructure Milestone: Iwo Road Completion
Adding to the significance of the day, the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. Kolapo Alimi, addressed the gathering with a major developmental update. He officially promised that the ongoing Iwo Road dualization project is on track for swift delivery.
"The government is committed to the rapid transformation of our infrastructure," Hon. Alimi declared. He gave a firm assurance that the dualization project would be fully completed before August 2026, a statement met with loud cheers from the residents and stakeholders present.
Spiritual Reflection and Leadership
The Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Mukodam Husein Akinola, exhorted the audience on the importance of integrity in leadership. Drawing from Islamic jurisprudence, he reminded those in power that Ramadan is a period of self-discipline and justice—virtues that must extend into how political leaders treat their constituents.
High-Level Presence
The Chairman of the day, SSG Hon. Teslim Igbalaye (Bobagunwa), praised the host for maintaining the tradition of the Ramadan lecture. His presence, alongside that of Hon. Alimi, signaled a unified front among key stakeholders in the state's progress and political stability.
Key Highlights of the Event are as follows:
