2027 Senate: Aburo Gomina Crew Pushes Governor AbdulRazaq for Kwara Central Representation

The Aburo Gomina Crew, under the purposeful leadership of Comrade Abdulmajeed AbdulWahab Temidire (Aburo Gomina) has joined the growing chorus of well-meaning stakeholders across Kwara State in calling on His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to contest for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

This appeal comes in recognition of the Governor's exceptional leadership, visionary governance as well as undeniable impact across critical sectors of the state. From infrastructural renewal to educational advancement and youth empowerment, his administration has consistently demonstrated commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth. The Crew noted that these achievements have not only transformed Kwara State but have also earned him the trust and admiration of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr Ganiyu Lukman and Coordinator of the crew described Governor AbdulRazaq and Sardauna Ngeri as a progressive leader whose calm disposition, strategic thinking, and people-centered policies have set a new standard in governance. He emphasized that such invaluable experience and leadership capacity are greatly needed at the National Assembly to further advance the interests of Kwara Central, particularly.

Aburo Gomina Crew noted that the 2027 senatorial race presents an opportunity to consolidate on the gains already recorded under his administration. They expressed optimism that his presence in the Senate would deepen quality representation, strengthen legislative influence for Kwara Central and ensure continuity of people-focused development initiatives at the national level.

HON. SHAGAYA IS A LEADER OF ACTION AND RESULTS.

At the National Assembly of Nigeria, Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya has demonstrated purposeful leadership through the sponsorship of impactful bills aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and advancing education and skill acquisition. His legislative contributions reflect both a deep understanding of grassroots challenges and sustainable development.

Beyond the chambers of legislation, his commitment to his constituency is evident. Through strategic facilitation of developmental projects, empowerment initiatives, and support programs, he has brought governance closer to the people. Roads, educational support schemes, and youth focused interventions stand as testaments to his resolve to deliver meaningful progress.

It is often said and cleared that a first tenure in the National Assembly is akin to being a stranger in a new environment but he is learning the system, building relationships, and understanding the dynamics of effective representation. With this foundational experience now firmly established, Hon. Shagaya is better positioned than ever to deliver even greater dividends of democracy.

TOWARDS STRENGTHENING PARTY UNITY, GOVERNOR ABDULRAZAQ PRESIDES OVER APC RECONCILIATION AND STRATEGY COMMITTEE

The Kwara State Governor and Chairman of Nigeria Governor's Forum, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq presided over the third meeting of the party's reconciliation and strategy committee towards ensuring party cohesion and stability ahead of future political engagements.

The meeting, held in Abuja, brought together prominent party leaders, governors, and members of the National Working Committee to review progress made in resolving internal disputes and building consensus across party structures nationwide.

After a thorough consideration of all issues relating to the leadership and internecine crises before the Committee, Governor Abdulrazaq said the committee remains focused on ensuring stability within the party, noting that unity is essential for the APC to sustain its electoral successes and deliver its promises to Nigerians.

Abdulrazaq aknowleges the avoidable internal leadership disputes and wranglings which have affected membership integration and preparations for upcoming elections own to issues of leadership structure, and stated the Committee has resolved to explore all windows to provide dialogue and prevent divisions.

The committee also reviewed reports from various states, particularly where disagreements among party stakeholders had affected local party activities.

The leadership expressed satisfaction with progress made so far, but stressed the need for continued dialogue to prevent divisions.

Several governors present at the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to the committee’s work, describing reconciliation as a necessary step toward maintaining the APC’s position as the leading political party in the country.

Members of the National Assembly who attended the meeting also urged the committee to ensure fairness in handling disputes, warning that unresolved conflicts could weaken the party ahead of future contests.

The committee was set up by the APC leadership following complaints from some members who alleged exclusion from party decisions after the last general elections.

This reconciliation efforts are part of a broader strategy to prepare the party early for the 2027 elections, with the leadership keen to avoid internal crises that affected some parties in the past.

The outcome of the committee’s meeting is expected to strengthen effectively the APC'S management tool at sustaining discipline within its ranks.

The meeting ended with a resolution to continue consultations with stakeholders across all states before the committee submits its final recommendations to the party leadership.
