AN OPEN LETTER OF GRATITUDE AND APPEAL TO THE SENATE PRESIDENT FOR THE RELEASE OF HIS SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON POLITICAL MATTERS, MR. ANIEKAN ABRAHAM, TO SERVE HIS PEOPLE
Your Excellency,
Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON,
President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Sir,
With hearts steeped in gratitude and voices united in appreciation, we, the sons and daughters of Ukanafun/Oruk-Anam Federal Constituency, rise to thank you sincerely for the golden opportunity you have given to our son and brother, Mr. Aniekan Abraham, through his service as your Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.
By this singular opportunity, Aniekan Abraham has not merely occupied an office, he has inhabited a classroom of leadership. He has learned from the rhythm of your reasoning, from the temper of your tact, and from the courage that defines your calling.
The office has not only exposed him to the intricate workings of national governance but has also equipped him with strategic insight, political maturity, and a proper understanding of the legislature.
Through this sacred tutelage, he has emerged seasoned, sound, and steady with such political steps now carrying the footprints of your example. Indeed, by this proximity to greatness, he has been prepared in both mind and manner, standing now in a better stead to represent our Federal Constituency with depth, dignity, and devotion. Today, he stands as one of the bright fruits of your political orchard, ready to bear fruit for his people.
Your Excellency, our Federal Constituency has long been guided by a sacred understanding: the rotational principle between Ukanafun and Oruk-Anam blocs. It is a covenant built not merely on politics, but on peace, justice, and brotherhood. Having graciously supported our Ukanafun brother for two terms, the compass of fairness now turns gently toward Oruk-Anam.
And in this appointed season, the voice of the people gathers around one name: Aniekan Abraham, your mentee, your political son, and our hopeful messenger of experience. He is a loyal son, and a faithful apprentice of your political school.
We humbly appeal, passionately but respectfully, that you graciously release him to us, to serve, to represent, and to reflect the glory of your mentorship in the Federal Constituency that bore him.
Your Excellency Sir, we come not with a tone of demand, but with the humility of children speaking to a father. We do not ask to take him away from you; we come to borrow him; to plead that you graciously lend him to us, even for a season, to serve his people with the wisdom he has drawn from your well of experience. We respectfully ask that you allow him to bring home the light that you have kindled in him, to extend the reach of your mentorship to the heart of our constituency.
In lending him to us, Sir, you are not losing a loyal aide, but spreading your legacy and allowing your leadership to echo in another chamber, in another generation, through another voice. Through him, your ideals will find new expression, your belief in justice, your discipline in service and your balance in leadership.
You have raised many men, Your Excellency, each carrying a fragment of your greatness.
Let Aniekan Abraham be another verse in that anthem of excellence you have composed across our political landscape. Let him stand in the green chamber as a living testimony that those who walk with you do not just serve: they become.
And when history writes your name, may it remember that even when you lent your sons to destiny, you never lost them but multiplied your impact through them.
With our deepest respect, enduring loyalty, and boundless gratitude,
Yours faithfully,
Uyoakam Ekerete, Esq.
A Proud Son of Ukanafun:
