WORK CULTURE SHAKE-UP IN ANAMBRA
Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, today carried out an unscheduled inspection of the Anambra State Secretariat in Awka, moving office-to-office across ministries to personally assess punctuality, discipline, and commitment within the civil service.
What he found, in his words, was “the good, the bad, and the ugly.”
While praising dedicated officers already at their duty posts, the Governor expressed strong dissatisfaction that many workers had not resumed work even after 10 a.m.
In a decisive move, Governor Soludo ordered the suspension without pay of civil servants who were absent from their duty posts by 10 a.m., warning that indiscipline and poor work ethic will no longer be tolerated in the state workforce.
He reiterated that his administration is building a modern, disciplined, and results-driven civil service, supported by investments in infrastructure, technology, supervision, and performance evaluation systems to deliver better governance for Ndi Anambra.
The message from the Secretariat today was simple and direct:
Show up. Step up. Or step aside.
