WORK CULTURE SHAKE-UP IN ANAMBRA
Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, today carried out an unscheduled inspection of the Anambra State Secretariat in Awka, moving office-to-office across ministries to personally assess punctuality, discipline, and commitment within the civil service.

What he found, in his words, was “the good, the bad, and the ugly.”
While praising dedicated officers already at their duty posts, the Governor expressed strong dissatisfaction that many workers had not resumed work even after 10 a.m.

In a decisive move, Governor Soludo ordered the suspension without pay of civil servants who were absent from their duty posts by 10 a.m., warning that indiscipline and poor work ethic will no longer be tolerated in the state workforce.

He reiterated that his administration is building a modern, disciplined, and results-driven civil service, supported by investments in infrastructure, technology, supervision, and performance evaluation systems to deliver better governance for Ndi Anambra.

The message from the Secretariat today was simple and direct:
Show up. Step up. Or step aside.

📊 ANAMBRA’S FISCAL REVOLUTION: FROM SAVINGS TO SYSTEMS

Money tells the truth no politician can hide — and Anambra’s books show it.

Let’s run the numbers 📈👇

--

💰 FEDERAL ALLOCATION (FAAC) + INTERNAL REVENUE (IGR)

Mbadinuju (1999–2003):

- FAAC averaged ₦2.5 billion monthly.
- IGR ≈ ₦250 million monthly.
- Salaries unpaid, projects grounded.
🟥 Result: Collapse.

Ngige (2003–2006):

- FAAC rose to about ₦3–₦4 billion monthly.
- IGR climbed to ₦400–₦500 million monthly.
- Massive road push began.
🟧 Result: Infrastructure Rebirth.

Peter Obi (2006–2010):

- FAAC averaged ₦5 billion monthly.
- IGR grew from ₦500 million to about ₦1.2 billion monthly.
- Built reserves and savings.
🟨 Result: Fiscal Discipline & Systemic Reforms.

Willie Obiano (2014–2018):

- FAAC between ₦5.5 billion–₦7 billion monthly.
- IGR rose to ₦1.6 billion, peaked at ₦2.3 billion.
- High-spend infrastructure era.
🟦 Result: Visible Projects, Drained Reserves.

Charles Chukwuma Soludo (2022–2025):

- FAAC (Mar–Dec 2022): ₦61.6 billion (~₦6.1 billion monthly).
- IGR (same period): ₦27.6 billion (~₦2.76 billion monthly).
- 2023: Monthly IGR hit ₦2.8 billion (highest since creation).
- 2024: Averaging ₦3 billion/month, targeting ₦4 billion+.
- Projects: 450 km of roads, 5,000 teachers, innovation hubs, agro-youth schemes.
🟩 Result: Fiscal Expansion with Tangible Transformation.

⚖️ PRAGMATIC SCOREBOARD

Governor| Fiscal Control| Revenue Growth| Visible Projects| Impact
Mbadinuju| ❌| ❌| ❌| Collapse
Ngige| ⚪| ⚪| ✅| Rebuild
Peter Obi| ✅| ✅| ⚪| Reform
Obiano| ⚪| ⚪| ✅| Expansion
Soludo| ✅✅| ✅✅| ✅✅| Transformation

📌 Bottom Line:
Peter Obi taught Anambra how to save;
Soludo is teaching it how to earn, build, and sustain.
He’s converting allocation into infrastructure, turning taxes into opportunity, and transforming governance into productivity.

🔹 From prudence to performance.
🔹 From savings to systems.
🔹 From survival to sustainability.

Anambra is no longer waiting for Abuja’s cheque — it’s learning to pay itself.
