Milestones in Doctoral Research Supervision

I am delighted to share two remarkable academic milestones that reflect the growing excellence of our higher institutions.

At Baze University, Abuja, the Department of Accounting and Finance successfully graduated its first-ever PhD candidate, Dr. Nuhu Umar. I had the honor of serving as the Internal Reviewer, while the External Examination was conducted by Prof. Gbegi Daniel of Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State. This historic defense is a testament to the department’s commitment to advancing knowledge in Accounting and Finance.

Similarly, I was privileged to serve as the International Reviewer for Dr. David Alaba Makonjuala, from the Department of Economics. His defense was externally examined by the distinguished Prof. Yusuf Isah Maikudi of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He successfully scaled through with minor corrections, an indication of the quality of his work and mentorship.

These academic milestones highlight the resilience, dedication, and global relevance of Nigerian scholarship. I warmly congratulate both Dr. Umar and Dr. Makonjuala on their achievements, and commend my colleagues for their invaluable contributions to maintaining academic standards.

Prof. Adamu Garba Zango has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on the inauguration of the new Federal Medical Centre in Gombe State and on her conferment with the royal title of Sarauniyar Yakin Kumo by the Gombe Emirate Council.

Prof. Zango also congratulated His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, noting that the royal title bestowed upon the First Lady is a testament to the renewed bond between leadership and traditional institutions under the current administration.

He prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and Allah’s blessings upon the President and the First Lady as they continue to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda for a better Nigeria.
