LAGOS ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE BEGINS SCRUTINY OF 2026 BUDGET REORDERING
The Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Economic Planning and Budget has commenced the scrutiny of the Lagos State Government’s proposed reordering of the 2026 Budget, following the request by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The exercise is aimed at carefully reviewing the proposed adjustments and assessing how available resources can be better channelled towards priority projects and programmes across the State.
The Committee, chaired by Hon Lukman Sa’ad Olumoh, is particularly examining ongoing capital projects, with emphasis on adequately funding projects that are at advanced stages of completion, while also considering critical interventions in areas such as infrastructure, drainage and flood control.
The scrutiny is in line with the resolution of the House, following the Governor’s request, and is expected to provide recommendations that will promote effective utilisation of public resources and ensure greater impact of the 2026 Budget on the people of Lagos.
