He expressed satisfaction with the remarkable advancement, noting that the project has successfully entered its second phase. During the visit, he engaged with host community members, who expressed gratitude for the initiative and highlighted its potential to deliver reliable electricity, boost small businesses, healthcare, and education, while improving overall living conditions.

Community leaders commended the local government for prioritizing renewable energy and urged continued supervision for timely completion. The Chairman reassured residents of the council’s commitment to rigorous oversight, ensuring the project meets high standards and maximizes benefits for the people.

‎Ikare Akoko, Ondo State yesterday, The Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Alh. Mohammed Olawale Mutiu, paid an unscheduled visit to the Akoko North East Youth Forum Secretariat, a facility provided by his administration to support youth activities and engagement.
‎
‎The visit offered a valuable opportunity for direct interaction with the Forum's leadership and members. The Chairman commended their steadfast commitment to promoting unity, peace, and grassroots development within the local government area.

‎Alh. Mutiu reiterated his administration’s unwavering dedication to youth empowerment as a cornerstone of sustainable progress in Akoko North East. He encouraged the youths to actively participate in and fully utilize the opportunities provided by the Start-Up Programme, an initiative designed to foster self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and improved livelihoods among young people.

‎The Chairman also provided updates on the ongoing solar mini-grid project, expressing confidence that it will be completed before February 2026, thereby enhancing reliable power supply and supporting economic activities in the area.

‎During the visit, Alh. Mutiu assessed the condition of the Secretariat's office equipment and identified areas needing urgent improvement. He assured the Forum that his administration remains committed to providing additional support to address these needs.

‎The Executive Chairman expressed his pride in the energy, determination, and potential of Akoko North East youths, who continue to inspire hope for a brighter future. Today, I warmly welcomed His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, to Akoko North East Local Government on his thank-you visit as he arrived at the Cenotaph Jubilee, Ikare-Akoko.

The venue is a historic site that has hosted numerous significant political gatherings in the region.

The Governor’s visit formed part of his ongoing thanksgiving tour across Akoko, during which he also used the opportunity to mobilise unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The event was marked by an electrifying atmosphere, as thousands of APC faithful, community leaders, traditional rulers, youths, and women's groups turned out in large numbers to demonstrate their loyalty to the party and its leadership.

I expressed appreciation to the residents of Akoko North East Local Government who came out en masse to welcome the Governor.

I also commended Our Ease Governor for his developmental strides in Ondo State and reaffirmed the local government’s total commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Furthermore, I described the event as a testament to the unbreakable bond between the people of Akoko North East Local Government and the progressive leadership at the state levels

Highlighting the significance of the visit, the Governor put smiles on the faces of party members across various wards through the distribution of palliatives, thereby demonstrating his commitment to their welfare and the party’s vision for a better future.

In a decisive effort to enhance road safety and restore free vehicular movement, the Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Alh. Mohammed Mutiu Olawale, today led a major road safety and sanity operation aimed at clearing obstructions from key routes across the community.

The operation was carried out by a combined team comprising the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Amotekun Corps, Man O’ War, Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Legislative Council members, Supervisors, and all appointees of the Chairman.

This intervention became necessary due to the persistent blockage of major roads, particularly the dual carriageway around the Palace axis and Osele Market by roadside traders, motorcycles, and tricycles. These obstructions have consistently impeded traffic flow, caused avoidable accidents, and tragically resulted in the loss of lives.

During the operation, the enforcement team engaged directly with roadside sellers and tricycle operators, issuing immediate directives for all activities to be moved away from road setbacks and designated carriageways. The Chairman reiterated that the safety and well-being of residents remain his top priority, stressing that no activity that endangers lives or disrupts public order will be tolerated.

The Local Government appeals to market women, traders, commercial riders, and the general public to adhere strictly to this directive. The enforcement exercise will be sustained to ensure a safer, cleaner, and more orderly environment for all road users.

OKE GURUSI ROAD GRADED AS AKOKO NORTH EAST CHAIRMAN INTENSIFIES INFRASTRUCTURE RENEWAL

‎In continuation of the systematic road intervention programme of the Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Alh. Mohammed Mutiu Olawale, the Oke Gurusi Road in Ekan Quarter has been successfully graded and made motorable.

The exercise, carried out on the directive and approval of the Chairman, is a clear demonstration of his commitment to ensuring that every quarter in Akoko north benefits from meaningful democratic dividends through improved road networks.

Residents of Ekan and frequent users of the road expressed their appreciation to the Chairman for his unwavering dedication. A community leader, Chief Abdulganiyu Olodeke, remarked: “Whether the Chairman is in town or not, his good works never stop. This is what we call true commitment.”

With today’s intervention, the number of roads graded and rehabilitated under this administration has risen to over five within a short period, with several others already scheduled for attention.

The administration once again reassures the good people of Akoko that the ongoing massive infrastructure renewal will not slow down for any reason until every ward feels the positive impact of purposeful and people-centered governance.

Earlier today, the Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Alh. Mohammed Mutiu Olawale, was honoured with the prestigious South West Chairman of the Year Award.

The award was presented by the Oodua Youth Coalition during a colourful ceremony themed “Blending Culture with Creativity and Craft”, held at the Dome Events Centre,Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State.

This recognition celebrates the Chairman’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development, exemplary leadership, and his firm alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the South West region.

The Chairman, ably represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon.Folasade Gold, expressed deep appreciation in his acceptance speech:

“It is with utmost honour and humility that I receive this award on behalf of the people of Akoko North East. I dedicate this recognition to my family, the resilient people of Akoko North East, and the government of Ondo State.

I sincerely appreciate the Oodua Youth Coalition for finding me worthy of this great honour. This award is a testament to the collective hard work of our team and the unwavering support of our people.
