*NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS (NAUS) OGUN STATE CAMPUS MONITORING COMMITTE (CMC)*

Moving Swift to action as enthusiastic Students movement. On Friday, 23rd August 2024, I, Comrade Adeyemi Boluwatife Opeyemi (BOLEXIS), Chairman of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Ogun State Campus Monitoring Committee (CMC), led my executives on a courtesy visit to
CP ABIODUN MUSTAPHA ALAMUTU, the Commissioner of Police at his office in Elewe Eran, Abeokuta. We formally introduced ourselves as the newly elected executives and commended him for his exemplary leadership in maintaining safety and security in Ogun State and school environments.

The Commissioner Of Police warmly welcomed us and expressed his appreciation for our visit. He offered sage advice, emphasizing the importance of leading with integrity and prioritizing the greater good over personal interests. He acknowledged my representation of Tai Solarin University of Education and expressed concerns regarding the school's history of protests and road blockages, which he deemed counterproductive. I humorously reminded him of the historic "Ali Must Go" protest of 1979, led by the late Akogun Segun Okeowo, and we shared a hearty laugh.

The Commissioner emphasized that protests have become an outdated mode of expression in Nigeria, and instead encouraged us to engage in constructive dialogue with management or organizations to resolve issues. He assured us that his office remains open for I and my executives in Ogun State and invited us to reach out whenever necessary.

We extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun MFR, Governor of Ogun State, for his tireless efforts in ensuring maximum security and organization in the state. His commitment to education is truly commendable, and we acknowledge his initiatives aimed at creating a conducive environment for students to thrive.

To all university students in Ogun State, we urge you to reach out to us whenever you face challenges or require assistance. We are here to serve and represent your interests with dedication and passion. Your trust in our leadership has brought us this far, and we pledge to continue working assiduously for your benefit.
