EASTER CELEBRATION: OLĂš OF IGBO-ORA EXTENDS ROYAL GREETINGS, CALLS FOR UNITY AND RIGHTEOUS LIVING

The OlĂş of Igbo-Ora Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, the OlĂş of Igbo-Ora Land, Permanent Chairman, Ibarapa Central Traditional Council, and Deputy Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, has extended his warm felicitations to Christians in Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa Land, Oyo State, and across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Easter celebration.

In a statement released from the Palace, Kabiesi described Easter as a sacred season that symbolizes sacrifice, hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness. He urged all faithful to reflect deeply on the virtues of love, humility, and selflessness as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The revered monarch called on residents of Igbo-Ora and beyond to embrace peaceful coexistence, unity, and tolerance, stressing that these values remain essential for sustainable development and communal harmony.

EID-EL-FITRI: Olu of Igbo-Ora Land Felicitates Muslim Faithful

His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, The Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, Permanent Chairman, Ibarapa Central Traditional Council, and Deputy Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, has extended his warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Muslim faithful in Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa Land, Oyo State, and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitri, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

In his goodwill message, Kabiesi commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment throughout the Ramadan period. He noted that the virtues of patience, sacrifice, humility, love, and generosity demonstrated during the fasting season should be sustained and reflected in their daily lives for the continued growth and unity of society.

The revered monarch charged Muslim faithful to use the opportunity presented by the Eid-el-Fitri celebration to continually seek the face of Almighty Allah for divine guidance, peace, and prosperity. Ramadan 2026 and Lenten Season: Olu of Igbo-Ora Calls for Harmony, Peace and Unity

The Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, has called on both Muslim and Christian faithful to use the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent as periods of renewed spiritual commitment, peaceful coexistence and unity across the land.

In a goodwill message to mark the observance of Ramadan 2026 and the ongoing Lenten season, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, the Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, Permanent Chairman of the Ibarapa Central Traditional Council and Deputy Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, described the two sacred seasons as divinely ordained periods of reflection, sacrifice, self-discipline and compassion.

The revered monarch noted that it is a profound blessing that both Muslims and Christians are observing spiritually significant periods at the same time, describing it as a unique opportunity for collective prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Igbo-Ora Land, Ibarapa Land, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

The revered monarch described the Golden Jubilee as a historic milestone that calls for reflection on the journey so far, celebration of collective achievements, and renewed commitment to the future of the state.

According to Kabiyesi, the fifty-year journey of Oyo State stands as a testament to the resilience, cultural richness, and progressive spirit of its people. Since its creation in 1976, the state has continued to serve as a custodian of Yoruba heritage and a centre of intellectual, cultural, and socio-economic contributions to national development.

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated his community father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye, the Olu of Igbo-Ora, on his appointment as one of the Deputy Chairmen of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Hon. Adepoju described the appointment as well-deserved and a recognition of the Olu of Igbo-Ora’s exemplary leadership, wisdom and consistent commitment to peace, stability, unity and development in Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa Land and Oyo State as a whole.

The federal lawmaker noted that the appointment followed the formal inauguration of the revived Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs by the Oyo State Government, with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, as the Chairman of the Council on a rotational basis.

The Ibarapa-born technocrat cm politician added that the development marked a historic moment for traditional institutions in the state, commending Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as visionary and inclusive leadership in restoring the Council after years of inactivity.

According to him, the passage of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs (Further Amendments) Bill, 2025 and its subsequent assent into law, demonstrate the administration’s respect for tradition and the rule of law, the doctrine the incumbent executive governor of Oyo State has upheld and respected since 2019.

Ibarapakan applauded the introduction of a rotational chairmanship arrangement in the populous pacesetter state among the Alaafin of Oyo, the Soun of Ogbomoso and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing it as a thoughtful mechanism that promotes equity, unity and harmony among the foremost traditional rulers in Oyo State.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that the Olu of Igbo-Ora’s role as Deputy Chairman would further amplify the voice of Ibarapa within the Council and contribute meaningfully to peace, unity and sustainable development across the state.

*Olu of Igbo-Ora appointed Deputy Chairman as Oyo State Revives Council of Obas and Chiefs*

His Royal Majesty, *Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V*, the Olu of Igbo-Ora and *Permanent Chairman, Ibarapa Central Traditional Council*, has emerged as one of the Deputy Chairmen of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, following the formal inauguration of the Council by the Oyo State Government, with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, pronounced as the Chairman on a rotational basis.

Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, *15th January, 2026*, inaugurated the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, effectively bringing back to life the Council which had remained inactive since 2011.

The development followed the passage of the *Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs (Further Amendments) Bill, 2025* by the Oyo State House of Assembly and the subsequent assent of the bill into law by the Governor.

Recall that the lawmakers amended *Clause 5 of Section 28 of the Chieftaincy Law*, making the chairmanship of the Council rotational among the Alaafin of Oyo, the Soun of Ogbomoso, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

While inaugurating the Council, Governor Makinde disclosed that he had consulted extensively with the trio of royal fathers—the Alaafin, the Olubadan, and the Soun—who unanimously agreed that the rotational chairmanship should commence with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

In a statement made available to journalists through the Palace Media Office, *His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V*, the Olu of Igbo-Ora and Permanent Chairman, Ibarapa Central Traditional Council, commended the exceptional leadership of the Oyo State Government under Governor Engr.
