PHOTOS: Soludo Receives Obasanjo At Anambra Airport

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, on Saturday received former president Olusegun Obasanjo at the Anambra International Airport, Umueri.

Obasanjo is in the state to attend a Town Hall Meeting where Soludo will present his one-year anniversary scorecard today (Saturday).

The event is scheduled to take place at the International Convention Center, Awka.

Anambra State Government Partners EEDC On Steady Power Supply.

Government of Anambra State has entered into partnership with Enugu State Electricity Company, EEDC for the development of mechanisms to ensure steady power supply across the state.

An MOU signing ceremony between both parties was performed at the EXCO Chambers, Government House, Awka.

While Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engr. Julius Chukwumeka signed on behalf of the state government, the Chief Executive Officer of EEDC, Sir Emeka Offor signed on behalf of his organisation.

The MOU entails that Anambra State government will undertake and lead the development of a comprehensive, integrated energy resource plan for the state that provides vital input on fuel sources, current and projected load/demand and potential locations for load-serving entities within the state, among other roles.

The EEDC will procure all regulatory approvals for enabling private sector investors and other stakeholders to participate in the development of the electricity supply chain in Anambra State, among others.

Speaking on the partnership, Governor Soludo expressed optimism that the partnership will translate into positive changes in the lives of ndị Anambra, saying that it is healthy in the journey to a prosperous smart megacity.

The Governor hinted that he had always underscored the importance of power in development and pointed out that the MOU signing is a consummation of a long standing relationship with EEDC.

Governor Soludo who expressed great commitment to the project, called on ndị Igbo, especially the wealthy, to bring at least, twenty five percent of their non-land asset home and contribute at least five percent of tax.

He said that his administration is pressing to transit Anambra from a largely informal commercial atmosphere to an industrial economy and added that the vision is not feasible without adequate power. .

Today, i on behalf of the governor of Anambra state, lay the Foundation Stone For 132KV Power Station At Aguleri.

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 132KV power station at Umuekete Igboezulu Aguleri, in Anambra East Local Government Area.

The project when completed will serve as a source of power supply for Anambra North Senatorial District.

Performing the ceremony, Governor Soludo represented by me the Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, explained that the project is in fulfillment of his manifesto towards providing steady power supply in the state, which has been manifesting in recently.

Governor Soludo who reiterated that he will partner with every stakeholder in the power value chain to ensure that there is constant electricity, added that as the state at the moment is generating zero mega- watt of electricity, soon it will begin to generate power that will be private sector driven.

He appealed to the community to support the government to ensure the project is completed at the record time, saying the government is already creating enabling environment to facilitate projects and augument the supply perched from the national grid.

In a remark, the traditional ruler of Aguleri Community, Igwe Micheal Idigo, described the project as a welcome development and thanked Governor Soludo and those who donated their lands for the project.

In their speeches, the President General, Enugwu-Otu Aguleri Development Union, Mr. Nnamdi Adimora and the Chairman Umuekete village Igboezunu Aguleri, Mr. Chinedu Mmadubueze, expressed their gratitude to the present administration and commended former governor Willie Obiano for attracting the project to the community, calling for the cooperation of the community to ensure completion and more developmental projects.

For the Senior Manager under Protection, Control and Maintenance Department of Transmission Company of Nigeria, Engineer Chinedu Ifeatu, said the community is privileged to attract the project which will provide employment and development for them, while the contractor of Cinnac Ventures Limited handling the project, Engineer. Chinwendu Anyanwu, assured timely completion of the work with the cooperation of the community.

Today, Thursday, April 07 2022, the Anambra State House of Assembly confirmed me and other 19 commissioner-nominees presented by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The confirmation followed the adoption of the report of the assembly screening committee at plenary on Thursday in Awka.

Supporting the claim, Emeka Aforka, representing Orumba North constituency, urged his colleagues to support the motion to allow the governor implement his developmental projects in the state.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Screening and Election Committee Matters, Mr. Pascal Agbodike, said that the 20 nominees met the requirements needed to be members of the state executive council of the state.

Hon. Agbodike, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, said they had all attained the mandatory ages required for appointment as commissioners in the state and showed the ability to serve.

The lawmakers, thereafter, confirmed me and other nominees through a voice vote. In his remarks, the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Okafor, urged the nominees to see themselves as agents of positive change in the state.

Hon. Okafor also urged them to support governor Soludo in implementing his policies and programmes to uplift the living condition of ‘ndi Anambra’.

He said the governor also sent another letter requesting the screening of a new Commissioner for Special Duties, Silvester Ezeakenwa, for subsequent confirmation.

Our Gov. Prof. C. C Soludo Swears-in commissioners and other senior aides.

Today 9th of April, 2022, Gov. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra State sworn-in commissioners and other senior aides of his government.
The commissioners are Mr. Ifeatu Chinedu (Finance), Prof. Ofonze Amucheazi (Lands), Mr. Ifeanyi Okoma (Works and Infrastructure ), Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake (Budget and Economy Planning), Dr. Afam Obidike (Health), Mr. Patrick Agha-mba (Youth Development), Mrs. Ifeyinwa Obinabo (Women/Children Affairs), Hon. Obinna Ugonnadi (Commerce and Industry), my humble self Engr. Julius Chukwuemeka (Power and Water Resources), and Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh (Education).
Others are Mr Paul Nwosu (Information), Mr. Foster Ihejiofor (Agriculture), Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike (Transport), Mr. Felix Odimegwu (Environment), Chikodi Anara (Home Land Affairs), Prof. Chika Ifemeje (Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice), Mr. Collins Nwabunwanne (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Mr. Donatus Onyeji (Culture/Entertainment), Mr. Anthony Ifeanya (Petroleum) and Mr. Paulinus Onyeaka (Housing).
Rtd Air-Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi, was also sworn-in as special advisers on Security matters.
Our governor also apologised ahead of time to us the new commissioners and other appointees, saying he will be very demanding, and would task them hugely for result.
“As your chief servant, I have to tell you that I will be very demanding. I have to apologise ahead of time because I will be very demanding and once we fix a meeting for nine, you must all be seated before nine, and that is the culture we want to maintain.
“The Soludo solution which was our slogan during the campaign is not just a promise, but you must all work to make it a reality, to create and build that livable Anambra State which we promised.
“I’m happy that you went to your screening knowing fully which ministry you are going to head.
“In the past, you go for screening without knowing which ministry you will lead, and later they start thinking of which ministry to send you to, whether to send you to a lucrative ministry or to send you to another.
But here, all of you were selected fit for your office. You were selected, knowing your competence in a particular field, and you must deliver,” Soludo said.

Dear NYSC and FG, our ex corp members one year contract expired on 23rd October 2017, but you decided to let them go on 2nd November 2017.

Before they entered this contract, they never agreed that they will become NYSC pensioners on completion of the one year service.

Please try and pay them their remaining allawe. They have so many things to do with money and Xmas is fast approaching.
