REPORT ON THE TRAINING ON EQUIPMENT FOR BREEDER SEED AND FOUNDATION SEED QUALITY

The training on Equipment for Breeder Seed and Foundation Seed Quality, facilitated by Mr. Takamasa Ando, successfully concluded on 15th July, 2026.

The training was conducted in two phases. The first phase ran from 22nd June to 3rd July, 2026, during which participants received both theoretical and practical training on the following:

* Equipment for breeder seed and foundation seed quality improvement.
* Seed germination testing.
* Risk analysis for occupational health and safety.
* Risk analysis for seed quality.
* Operation of seed production equipment, including the combine harvester, seed dryer, and seed grader machine.

The second phase, held from 6th to 15th July, 2026, focused on the cleaning and maintenance of the seed production equipment, including the combine harvester, seed dryer, and seed grader machine. Participants were also trained on the proper scheduling of activities to ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and management of the equipment.

The training officially came to an end on 15th July, 2026. Certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. The event concluded with light refreshments and a group photograph.

We give God all the glory for granting everyone a successful and impactful training programme from start to finish. We sincerely appreciate Mr. Takamasa Ando for his dedication, expertise, and commitment throughout the training. We also express our profound gratitude to the Management of the National Cereals Research Institute (NCRI), ably represented by the Head of Station (HOS), for their unwavering support and commitment to staff capacity development.

The knowledge and practical skills acquired during the training will contribute significantly to improving the operation and maintenance of equipment used in breeder seed and foundation seed production, thereby enhancing seed quality and agricultural productivity.

And that’s a wrap! 🎉

Yesterday officially marked the end of our Automated Weather Station (AWS) training, and what an incredible journey it has been!

It has been days of intensive learning, practical sessions, teamwork, and the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and skills that will undoubtedly improve our work.

One of the highlights of the closing ceremony was the presentation of certificates to the remaining participants, bringing the training to a successful and memorable conclusion. Congratulations to everyone who successfully completed the programme! 👏🏽

Above all, I return all the glory to God for His grace, strength, protection, and wisdom throughout the training.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our dedicated tutors for their patience, expertise, and commitment to ensuring we learned and understood every aspect of the training. Thank you for investing your time and knowledge in us.

We also extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Head of Station and the management for making this training possible and for giving us the opportunity to build our capacity and enhance our professional skills.

It was truly a worthwhile experience, and I am grateful for everything I learned. Now it’s time to put this knowledge into practice and contribute even more effectively in service.

As part of the ongoing Automated Weather Station (AWS) training, some participants who will be unavailable to complete the programme next week were presented with their certificates on Friday. The certificate presentation recognized their participation and commitment to the training. We congratulate them on reaching this milestone and wish them success as they apply the knowledge and skills gained. The training continues for the remaining participants, with more learning and engaging sessions scheduled for the coming week.

Throughout this week, participants have been engaged in insightful lecture sessions focusing on the policies and key issues surrounding Automated Weather Stations (AWS). The discussions have been interactive and thought-provoking, giving everyone the opportunity to contribute their knowledge and perspectives.

Participants were divided into groups to discuss and present various AWS policies and related issues, encouraging teamwork, active participation, and a deeper understanding of the topics covered. The presentations and discussions have enriched the learning experience and strengthened participants’ knowledge of AWS operations and best practices.

The training continues to be impactful, and we look forward to more engaging sessions in the days ahead.

AWS Training Update

Today’s training session also featured group presentations, where participants were divided into different groups. Each group selected a representative to present on behalf of the team, showcasing what they had learned during the training.

The presentations were engaging, informative, and demonstrated the participants’ understanding of the topics covered. It was an interactive session that encouraged teamwork, confidence, and knowledge sharing. The class was fully engaged throughout, making the session both lively and impactful.

Overall, it was another successful and enriching day of the Automated Weather Station (AWS) training.
