The beneficiaries of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University (Tech-U) scholarship from Ona Ara Local Government proudly received their admission letters from the office of the Executive Chairman, Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious.

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and service to humanity, the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Yisau Olayiwola, distributed exercise books to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) under the umbrella of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) yesterday at Elekuro High School, Ogbere.

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, ably represented by the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Yakub Aderodekun, lauded Hon. Yisau Olayiwola for his thoughtful gesture aimed at promoting education and inclusion among persons with disabilities.

In his remark, Dr. Temitope Glorious further extended special commendation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to Disability Inclusion in Governance. He described the Governor’s administration as a trailblazer in ensuring that persons with disabilities are not just recognized but given active roles and representation in government structures across the state.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has shown us that true governance is inclusive governance. His approach to disability inclusion continues to inspire us at the grassroots to implement policies and actions that leave no one behind,” — Dr. Kolapo Temitope Glorious GLORIOUS.

New Era Food Day: Ona Ara Agog as ODF, Farmers, Traders Applaud Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS’ Agricultural Empowerment Initiative

Ona Ara Local Government was filled with excitement today as the maiden edition of New Era Food Day held under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, with farmers, market leaders, and traders commending his innovative Agricultural Empowerment Initiative designed to tackle food insecurity and promote sustainable growth.

A statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, confirmed that the Ona Ara Development Forum (ODF), farmers’ groups, and traders across the 28 markets in the local government applauded the Chairman for creating a direct link between farmers and traders, ensuring food products are sold at low-cost markets directly to the people.

In his address, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS noted that the event not only fulfills his administration’s promise on agricultural development but also marks the final component—“A” for Agricultural Improvement—in the NEW ERA Agenda of Ona Ara Local Government.

“This initiative is a strategic step towards addressing food security challenges while serving as a sustainable empowerment platform for our farmers. It is about building a system that nourishes our people and guarantees prosperity for generations to come,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the sons and daughters of Ona Ara, Alhaji Kola Bolomope, President of ODF, lauded the Chairman for the groundbreaking initiative. Similarly, the President of the Yoruba Youth Council (YYC), Aare Alawode Rahmon Akintunde, praised the program as “a first of its kind since the inception of Ona Ara Local Government in 1992.”

Today, the Ona Ara Local Government Secretariat hosted a historic New Era Food Day 2025, where farmers and leaders from 28 markets across our local government gathered to sell fresh farm products at affordable prices through the Low-Cost Market Initiative. 🌾🥬🍅

In his keynote address, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, noted that this event not only fulfills the Agricultural Empowerment promise made months ago but also marks the final “A” (Agricultural Improvement) in the NEW ERA Agenda of this administration.

According to him, this initiative is designed to tackle food security challenges while also serving as a sustainable empowerment platform for Ona Ara farmers.

Ona Ara LG Launches “New Era” Food Day: Low-Cost Market to Cushion Rising Food Prices – Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS

In a decisive move to ease the burden of soaring food prices, the Ona Ara Local Government of Oyo State has announced the hosting of a Low-Cost Market as part of activities lined up for the 2025 World Food Day Celebration, slated for October 16.

The market fair will hold on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Main Local Government Secretariat, Akanran, beginning at 7:00 am.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the initiative is being spearheaded by the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, in partnership with the Ona Ara Local Government Farmers Association.

The program is designed to provide immediate relief for residents grappling with present economic realities by making staple food items available at subsidized prices.

It will be recalled that, earlier this year, Ona Ara Local Government in collaboration with the Oyo State Government’s Agricultural Empowerment Initiative, supported farmers across the council area to enhance productivity and ensure a sustainable food supply.

Speaking ahead of the initiative, Dr. Glorious emphasized: “I’m just concerned about the fact that the economy is hard, and we need to complement the efforts of the state government. Part of our campaign promise to our people is to do everything within our capacity to reduce hardship in the community, and that is what we are doing. For me, the joy from my people is what gives me joy, too. That’s all I’m expecting—the happiness of my people.”

The Ona Ara Low-Cost Market is expected to attract a large turnout, reinforcing the council’s commitment to its NEW ERA Agenda on Welfare and Social Services, while also promoting food security and agricultural development across the local government.

Ariyo-Akanran Road: Ona Ara LG Chairman, Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS, Traditional Rulers Sensitize Citizens as Second Phase of Dualization Commences

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, in the company of Traditional Rulers and other critical stakeholders, on Friday, 19th September 2025, undertook a sensitization tour of communities along the Ariyo–Akanran corridor, as the second phase of the Olorunsogo–Dagbolu Road dualization project formally commenced.

In a statement issued by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, the exercise was aimed at engaging affected citizens and ensuring voluntary compliance in the removal of structures encroaching on the designated road expansion path. Dr. GLORIOUS appealed for the cooperation of residents and property owners, emphasizing that the dualization project is a legacy infrastructure that will enhance accessibility, reduce traffic bottlenecks, and stimulate socio-economic development in Ona Ara Local Government.

The sensitization exercise had in attendance notable dignitaries including the Secretary to the Government, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu, Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; Baale Kure; Baale Gbeleyi; Mogajis; Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Ojewumi; Directors; Supervisor for Works, Hon.
