✍️Chapter 8✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

Antonio was sprawled on the floor drinking, drinking like he had no tomorrow. He only did that when he was frustrated beyond control.

"My King, please you can't do this. We have to be strong for our daughter." Her voice softened.

She still loved her husband despite the unbearable things he did to her in the past. She was not innocent too, she had done some things too.

"Just leave me like this. I'm fine, don't worry about me. So, Lamba made an offer an...."

"Yh, I heard. I can't believe you told him you'll think about it. You were supposed to tell him no outrightly."

"No? Did you say no?" He laughed hysterically. "I thought you loved me bu..."

"I should be saying that Antonio, that's meant to be my line. I thought you loved me because if you did, you wouldn't send me to Lamba knowing the possible things he'd try to do."

He thought for a while, not because of anything she said. Damn, he was under the influence of alcohol, so not like he was going to think straight
"Yh I do..." He paused for a while again, he remembered what he'd told Flynn the other day about love. If love meant caring, then maybe he loved her.
"I mean, yh I do love you. But the kingdom is at stake here and as a Queen, you should know better than question my actions. Because, trust me I've thought of it well before making my decision."

"So you're sending me to him right? You're sending me to that bastard, that w***e, that cheat, that..." She paused and thought of what she said. Antonio did too.

"Did you just call him a cheat? How did you know about that?"

She fidgeted a little. "I've heard rumours about him." With that she turned to leave but while she held the door k**b she said "if you want to send me to him, then it's fine."

"Really? Thank you so much"

With that she twisted the k**b, opened the door and left.
"Phew she almost spilled herself right there." She thought.
She's never talking to him when she's angry again.

In King Lamba's palace

The palace was bubbling and full of life. They were celebrating and jubilating. King Lamba and his friends laughed together like those good old times in the past. Antonio used to be one of them but he betrayed them. Lamba remembered telling him he'd forgiven him. Forgiven him his foot! Betrayal was the thing he lated most in his life either from family members, friends or guards.

"So let's toast to the fact that Madeline will be on my bed some days from now." He said and they all laughed and started drinking.
It was worth the wait.

Madeline is pretty, very pretty and he once had a taste of her long before Antonio decided to marry her. Damn Antonio for having all the good things in life without fighting for them.

He excused himself and went to the balcony. She loved watching the sky at night. She loved the stars. He was so sure Antonio knew nothing about that.

Very soon, the love of his life would come to him and he'll accept her with open arms.

***
He made his way to his son's room. Louis was his only child and his mother had died at childbirth. He had to employ a nanny to take care of him till he was old enough to fend himself.
He had had his guards bring different ladies to pleasure him since he wasn't ready to get married again. The thoughts made him remember things he didn't want to. He went into his son's room.

"Father, I was about coming to see you. I found her, the guards have trailed her and are following her at the moment." He said curtly. He was only telling his father this information because he has encouraged him to go after her

"That's nice. I knew you'd do what her father could never do."

"I can't wait to bring her home where she belongs." He gave his father a hard glare

"Can't wait too, I'm not getting any younger."

He said nothing to that and Lamba knew the conversation had ended so he left.
Things are finally falling in place.

✍️Chapter 7✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

"Lamba, are you sh****ng me? This is my fu***ng daughter we are talking about here. I love her dearly and I've sent guards to search for her." He said trying to sound calm. "Lamba, I swear by my father's grave, I have nothing to do with the escape of the princess. Just give me some time."

"Time, you say. I'll think about that. But we are adding more conditions to the contract."
"Conditions like me and Your Queen meeting on a freaky Friday, you know just spending time together getting to know each other."

Antonio froze, which was the exact reaction Lamba wanted.

"Not my wife Lamba, you can have any other lady from this kingdom, but not my wife."

"I've given my word, my dear friend. It's for you to think about it and decide to agree or not. Though I'm quite sure you know the consequences if you disagree." He grinned evilly.

"Lamba, but wh...."

"Antonio, I'll be on my way now. I've got a meeting in some minutes time. Don't forget to think well before making your decision and do send my regards to your pretty queen." With that he stood up and left the astonished King Antonio there.
*
"
He groaned when he got back to his room.
He was getting frustrated.
He took his box of gold wristwatches and threw them across the room. He knew he'd regret them later. But, right now he was in too much agony to care about anything.

He missed his daughter.
They argued a lot and that was why he loved her. It showed she was truly his daughter because he also never agreed to something without going down with a fight or argument.

She was going to be a great queen. She wasn't partial, always spoke her mind out, never afraid of anyone. Or better put, she never allowed anyone to read her fear.

He wondered how well she was coping. He still didn't get why she ran away. If she didn't want the prince, she should have come out clean. Well, who was he deceiving? He'd have still forced her.

What was he going to do?
Lamba was ahead of him in thinking. How could he request for his wife? She was all that he had left now that the princess had left.

He had to do something. He just had to. How was he going to tell Cora he couldn't say no to Lamba's request. She was really going to flare up

"Flynn, get me a bottle of vodka." He needed to clear his head first before thinking.
*
*
"No!! He wouldn't dare."
"But, Your Highness, it's all over that the great King Lamba has requested a day with you."
"How could he? That son of a bitch. I'm never spending a night with him. How dare he make that request?"
"Your Highness, please calm down. Walls have ears, it wouldn't help matters if the great King Lamba finds out that you called him names."
"I literally don't care. I feel so empty without my daughter."
"Your Highness, I know how it feels and I totally understand you."

Lydia had lost her daughter some years back during a ferocious war. She felt a tear slip through her eye lids remembering how her daughter and some other people were burnt like animals in a tent they hid.

"Oh my God, Lydia I'm so sorry I mentioned that. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
"No, it's fine. Anyways let's get you set for the day." She said trying to light the moment up. She was a very nice and understanding person. With that, she captured the Queen's attention and was made her personal maid.

As she got dressed, she asked. "So what did the king say regarding the matter."
"Your Highness, I have no idea. As you are well aware, I wasn't in there during the meeting. But I heard, he said he'll think about it."

The Queen stood up.
"Think about it? He was supposed to tell him no immediately. I hope it's not what I'm thinking."

She stomped out of the room immediately heading towards the king's chamber. She didn't even remember to put her crown on and as she walked through the hallway, everyone could feel the anger radiating from her.

How dare he!! She couldn't bear the betrayal. It meant he could sleep around too. She walked faster, the anger controlling her. How dare he?

"Antonio." She started immediately she entered the room, but the sight before her shut her up. What the hell is going on??????

✍️Chapter 6✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

What part of "let me be did he not get"?
She ignored him and continued looking out towards the trees and every other green natural things she could see.
The sight was mesmerizing.
As a princess, there were specific places she could and couldn't go.

Just then the carriage was filled with an aroma. She couldn't withstand it so she had to look at the food.
She didn't even know the name so she looked away.

He dug into the food as he was on his phone.
Just then it rang and he hesitated before picking.

"Yh?".....
"You didn't tell me she was going to leave, I'd have prepared"..…..
"She's fine".....
"Of course"....
"We have a lot to talk about when you're around, good bye"....

She could only hear his side of the conversation.
And why did she feel like he was talking about her.
She began to panick within. Yes within, because she was trained never to express her fear.

How would she escape?
Why was life been unfair? She was honestly tired and getting weak.
Her head began to spin and suddenly she felt the darkness engulf her.
*
*
"Your Majesty, King Lamba is here to see you." A guard said outside the bedroom of the king.
He got down from the bed and was helped to change into his royal outfit.
He was totally scared. He could feel his vulnerability radiating off him.
But, as a king showing weakness is the worst thing to ever do, he smiled into the mirror and walked out of the room emitting confidence and power.
*
*
"Lamba, what brings you here this early morning?"
"Antonio, this is no time for pleasantries, what is this thing I hear about the princess missing?"
He flinched, Lamba never spoke this way to him. He didn't say anything.
"So it's true, you promised me your daughter's hand in exchange for my lands and some of my warriors.
So now that I've signed he contract, you want to back out? I want to see the princess now!!" He barked out.

✍️Chapter 5✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

"Lydia, I miss her. I miss my baby; I knew she was going to do something about the marriage. I didn't know it would be to this extent.
How would I know if she's okay? She can't even hurt a fly, talk less of defending herself." She said sobbing.

"Your Highness, I believe the princess can fend for herself. She's 19 and she really paid attention when she was being taught by her tutors. So I believe she'll put everything to action at this point. Please eat your food and let's hope she'll come back hale and hearty."

Why was this happening to her, at this time and in this situation? Were the gods punishing her for what she did some years back?
Oh no! She can't confess now. At all, that'll bring shame to her.
What should she do now?
It was only hours that her daughter had left but she had a feeling she wasn't going to come back home now.
What was she going to do?
*
*
The stranger studied the Princess, she looked so young like 16 or 17. Why was she running away? Could it be because of the wedding? His friend didn't tell him that. Has he started hiding things from him? He would have to find out soon.

"So, where were you heading to yester night?" He asked her in his most polite way.
"That's none of your damn concern. If you care to know, you'd let me down off this carriage, and let me continue my journey to my destination in peace." She said clenching her fist and stressing each word as she said them.

He chuckled.
Damn him and his chuckles. She faced the window.

"I'm doing this to help you and you'd thank me later, trust me."
"I'll rather dig my grave than thank you for putting me through this stress. Please let me be, I'm rather tired."

The rest of the ride was silent.
*
*
He brought out what looked like a phone.
She only knew this cause she had begged one of her tutors to teach her science, she loved it with her heart. The science of earth, science of life; anything science. She loved nature and was inquisitive about how things came into existence.
Her mind drifted to things back at home. She wondered if her mum was fine.

"Are you hungry?" He asked.

✍️Chapter 4✍️
By :Deborah Itohan

He had to do something before King Lamba found out. He had done a very dreadful thing by lying that the princess was severely ill and the wedding had to be postponed till she got better.
Lying to King Lamba was like requesting your very own death wish. He knew this because they are friends, or so he thought.

He screamed in frustration and broke his flower vase.
Why was Lily doing this?
She knew the benefits he and the kingdom would have if she got married to Prince Nathan.
Why was she doing this?
He took a picture frame and smashed it on the wall.

It would only take few hours before the news would spread around that the princess had run away.
Then King Lamba would find out and there will be serious problem.

"Flynn, why is she doing this? I mean the Prince is handsome, he has money and there's been no bad report of him since I knew him. What exactly does the princess want for Holy sake?" He asked rhetorically.

But Flynn answered. "Love, Your Majesty. I believe the princess wants to marry the person she loves not the...."

The king laughed hysterically. "Love? There's no such thing as love. I admire the queen, she satisfies my pleasure and I'm okay with her but there's no love I tell you."

"Okay Your Majesty, what are we going to do now?"

"That's what I'm thinking about. Maybe you should also think about something useful and we can discuss it later. Right now, I'm tired." He said and took his food served in china wares and smashed it on the wall.
He was really losing it.

Flynn bowed and left but called the maids on his way, to tidy the king's room
*
*
"Your Highness you've not eaten your food and you've refused to take your drugs since morning. Please don't skip dinner too." Her maid said in a sad tone.

She didn't say anything, she only sniffed.
After a while she burst into another round of tears.

✍️Chapter 3✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

She reached for her machete in her coat and turned around as quick as she could, aiming at the intruder.

He was quick enough to dodge.

"Easy easy princess." He chuckled grabbing her hand and swinging the weapon away.

Wait what!! This guy doesn't look familiar. He was even dressed far more than a guard should.

"Who are you and why do you keep calling me 'princess'?" She asked testing him.

He chuckled again.
"I could be nice if I wanted to and I could have your head chopped off by my men."

Just then she looked around, there were truly men around him. What was she going to do and how will she escape? She just escaped from her guards and now she was cornered again.

"I think I've answered your question on who I am, and of course who doesn't know the spoilt princess Lily." He said wanting to see her reaction.

"I'm not spoilt. It's not my fault you didn't have loving and caring parents." She replied trying to keep her cool.

"Hmm. I'm quite sure loving and caring parents wouldn't sell their child out and term it 'marriage'."

"You know what? I don't know you, you don't know me. I think it's better we go our separate ways and pretend we never met. If you'll excuse me." She said and started to walk away.

"Of course we'll pretend we never met but we'll not be going separate ways." He said and chuckled.

Must he always do that? She hated the sound.

He tapped his fingers and his men came forward.

"Bring her into the carriage." He said and walked towards the carriage.

From the window, he could see her struggling. That was what he liked about her, she never gave in easily. But, there can't be two masters at a time or could there?

*
*
"Flynn what am I going to do? What do I tell King Lamda? The wedding is supposed to take place in two days time. This girl is such a disappointment." The king lamented.
"Your Majesty, I think we should give her some hours to come around."
" I hope she comes around if not..."

✍️Chapter 2✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

*
*
"I have an important message for His Majesty." A guard gushed out informing the older guards guiding the entrance to the throne room.

"His Majesty is in a meeting at the moment." The most superior guard whose name was Flynn, replied without sparing him a glance.

"But it is urgent."

"How urgent could it be?"

"It's about the princess." The guard said shaking.

"What's wrong with her?" The older guard asked nonchalantly assuming the princess was stunting some of her tricks again.

"She's not in her room and we've searched everywhere. I'm afraid she's not in the castle." He said falling on his knees because he couldn't stand any longer.

Flynn looked at the guard trying to study him before he went into the throne room.
He whispered into the king's ear and left.

"Well I guess it's time the meeting ends." The king said to the people and dispersed them.
*
*
"Flynn!!!" The king called and hit his fist on the armrest.

He entered immediately and answered "Your Majesty." then bowed.

"Repeat what you whispered in my ears earlier, the queen would love to hear." He said and smiled wickedly. He does that when he's angry.

"Your Majesty, Your Highness, I just got informed that the princess is missing." He said without exhibiting any form of fear. Death was the least of his fears.

"I knew it. I told you she wasn't ready fo this marriage. I warned you, you wouldn't listen. See you chased her away. My baby, my princess." The queen said, babbling as she cried, leaving for her chamber.

"I want the heads of the guards that were by her door yester night." The king said and stood from his seat. "And also those that were by the gate. I don't want loose guards. This shows that if the enemies had attacked last night, no one would have known." He completed angrily. What was he going to tell the prince she was supposed to get married to?

👽Her Saviour👽

✍️Chapter 1✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

She laughed as she ran, remembering how she had fooled the guards and all other maids and servants. It was so much fun having them think she was one of the maids.

She had been planning her route of escape for a while, ever since her parents announced that she was getting married. Not just to anyone, but the famous and well known Prince of a bountiful kingdom.

People say he's handsome and all, but she just can't seem to see those attributes. All she sees is a cold-hearted human being that would turn he to a slave once she was handed over. The thought made her cringe as she ran.

She was so happy she was forced to learn so many things; when she was younger; aside royal stuffs like some royal sport activities. She never wanted to learn them, but as a princess she had no choice.

And now her practices have made her a professional athlete which was to her very own advantage at the moment.

She once again remembered how she had fooled the guards and servants, making them think she was one of the maids.

It was a great risk that could have gone wrong by the slightest mistake. She had to go to the rooftop of the castle, jump to the roof of the next building, the ln descend to the ground. Climbing the fence was the most difficult part for her because she had never done it before.

But if she had scaled through from her guards, climbing a fence and jumping down was no big deal.

When she was sure she had run quite far, she stopped to catch her breath. She didn't even know where she was and she didn't care as long as she was far from home.

She jumped and fist bumped the air. "I made it, I actually made it. I'm finally free from royalty, at least for now." She breathed out, gasping for air.

"Really? Look who we have here, if not the famous Princess Lily." Someone spoke behind her.

Oh no!! They finally caught up with her.

✍️Synopsis✍️

By: Deborah Itohan

It was late at night, probably mid night. The very perfect time for the enemies to attack if the guards were not fully active.

He watched the city through his binoculars and smiled.
One day, just one very perfect day, he'd get what he wanted.

He was about returning back when something caught his attention, someone to be precise.

She was running, she looked small and frail. Maybe because she was far away.

She seemed to run with determination because she didn't stop to catch her breath.

She'd be very useful for him.

Her name was Lily.

She had done something very dreadful at home and had to run before she was caught.

She was to be wedded the next day, to a man she hated ever since she set her eyes on him.

What will happen when this stranger holds her captive and her supposed husband comes to fight for her?
