ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT SPONSORED MASS WEDDING FOR 100 VULNERABLE COUPLES, PROVIDES CASH SUPPORT AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS.

The Zamfara State Government has sponsored the mass wedding of one hundred couples drawn from vulnerable groups across the fourteen Local Government Areas in the State.

Speaking at the occasion, the State Executive Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal represented by his Deputy, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum) reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to supporting vulnerable citizens.

Dr. Lawal, who also served as the representative of the grooms, stated that the Government provided a dowry payment of two hundred thousand naira for each groom. In addition, each bride received fifty thousand naira as support for small-scale trading activities in their matrimonial homes.

The Governor also presented marriage certificates and household items to the couples. He urged them to respect one another and advised the brides to be obedient to their husbands, emphasizing the importance of fostering harmony and attracting Allah’s blessings in their marriages.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the State Hisba Commission, Sheikh Umar Hassan Gusau, commended the State Government for constructing permanent office facilities for the commission in the State capital and across the fourteen Local Government Areas.

Also speaking at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, the Chief of Staff at the Government House, and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs jointly donated five million naira to the couples in honour of the Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum).

The occasion was attended by the Emir of Zamfara, who was represented by the Emir of Kaura Namoda, Sarkin Kiyawa Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Ahmad Asha as the representative of the brides, as well as Sheikh Ahmad Bn Umar Kanoma and other dignitaries.

ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT REAFFIRMS NON-NEGOTIATION POLICY WITH BANDITS, VOWS TO SUSTAIN EFFORTS TO END INSECURITY

The Zamfara State Government has reiterated its firm stance against negotiating with bandits, pledging to intensify efforts and adopt new strategies to bring an end to insecurity in the state.

This assurance was given by the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi, who also serves as Chairman of the State Committee on Sympathy and Humanitarian Assistance, established by Governor Dauda Lawal.

The Deputy Governor made this known during a condolence visit to the people of Bunkasau village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area, following a recent attack by bandits.

He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, noting that at least twenty-six 26 people lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries. He commended the courage and resilience of the villagers, who resisted the attackers and reportedly neutralized several bandits in the process.

On behalf of the state government, the Deputy Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, as well as the speedy recovery of the injured.

He further announced that the state government has approved the sum of fifteen million naira 15,000,000.00 as support for the families of those who lost their lives and for those who sustained injuries during the attack.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, commended the people of Bunkasau for their bravery in defending themselves. He disclosed that the State Assembly would consider the possibility of enacting legislation that would allow communities to bear arms for self-defense, in line with constitutional provisions.

Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Bunkasau, Malam Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit. He revealed that the community had long endured repeated attacks from bandits but had recently mounted strong resistance, resulting in the elimination of several attackers. He appealed to the government for additional support and measures to enhance community protection.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ahmad Garba Yandi, Chairman of Bukkuyum Local Government Area, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Mannir Fura Girke, and other government officials.

ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES PLANS TO PROVIDE STUDENT HOSTELS AND MOBILITY VEHICLES FOR TALATA MAFARA UNIVERSITY.

The Zamfara State Government has announced plans to build student hostels and provide mobility vehicles to the State University, Talata Mafara aimed at improving access for students to the institution.

Th State governor Dr Dauda Lawal made the announcement, during his address at the University’s fifth matriculation ceremony, held today at the university's permanent site.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum) emphasized that his administration has declared a state of emergency in the education sector, and is committed to providing modern technological resources to ensure the delivery of quality education in the University.

Governor Lawal also expressed his gratitude to the University’s development partners, including TETFUND, the Federal Government’s Assessment Intervention, and the Academic Community, for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the smooth operation of the institution.

He congratulated the newly matriculated students, and urged them to avoid engaging in exam malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, and other social vices that could hinder their academic success.

Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor of State University, Talata Mafara, Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Tsafe, announced that 980 students had been matriculated for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Professor Tsafe also expressed his appreciation to the state government for entrusting him with the leadership of the University, assured that he would do everything possible to fulfill the expectations placed on him and highlighted some of the achievements of the University, as well as challenges that need to be addressed.

The Emir of Mafara, Alhaji Bello Muhammad Barmo, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of seeking knowledge for all individuals, referenced notable verses and traditions of the Holy Prophet, which emphasize the value of education.

DISTRICT HEAD OF UKATA CONFERS PRESTIGIOUS TITLE OF "ZINARIYAR UKATA" ON WIFE OF ZAMFARA DEPUTY GOVERNOR.

The District Head of Ukata, Alhaji Muhammadu Ukata has conferred the traditional title of Zinariyar Ukata on Her Excellency, Hajiya Suwaiba wife of the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Mutawallen Bukkuyum).

The conferment was made today Saturday 11th April, 2026 at the palace of the District Head of Ukata, Alhaji Muhammadu Ukata in Bangi, Mariga Local Government, Niger State.

Announcing the confirment the District Head of Ukata, Alhaji Muhammadu Ukata stated that the title Zinariya which means "Golden one" in Hausa is reserved for distinguished women who demonstrate exceptional compassion, leadership, and selfless service to society. He noted that Hajiya Suwaiba was carefully selected for the honor in recognition of her humanitarian efforts and commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of the community.

Speaking after receiving the title, the newly conferred Zinariyar Ukata, Hajiya Suwaiba expressed deep appreciation to the District Head and the people of Ukata for the honor bestowed upon her. She reaffirmed her commitment to championing the cause of vulnerable groups and pledged to strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions in promoting peace, and unity, and sustainable development within the district.

DEPUTY GOVERNOR, MANI MALAM MUMMUNI ATTENDS THE WEDDING FATIHA OF THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER OF AGRICULTURE.

The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum) attended the Wedding Fatiha of the Commissioner of Agriculture, Honourable Ya'u Haruna.

The wedding fatiha which took place at Modomawa Juma'at Mosque, Birnin Magaji attracted family members, friends, and well-wishers from within and outside the community.

Speaking shortly after the wedding fatiha, Deputy Governor congratulated the couples and described marriage as a sacred institution that requires commitment, patience, tolerance, and the fear of Allah. He advised the couples to build their home on mutual understanding, respect and steadfast faith in Allah to ensure a peaceful and successful marital life.

Mani Malam Mummuni prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the marriage and wished the couples a prosperous and harmonious life together and also pray to Almighty Allah to make it among the best.

The Deputy Governor thanked all those in attendance and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward them abundantly and also prayed for their safe return to their respective destinations.

Members of his entourage includes, the State Head of Service, Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara, Commissioner's, Permanent Secretaries, Local Government Chairmen among other Government Officials.

HON. (DR) ABDULMALIK ZUBAIRU (ZANNAN BUNGUDU) VISITS DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF ZAMFARA STATE.

Hon. (Dr) Abdulmalik Zubairu (Zannan Bungudu) Member Representing Bungudu/ Maru Federal Constituency paid a significant visit to the office of the Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum) as part of efforts to strengthen relationships and discuss critical issues related to the state's development.

The visit was conducted in a mutually respectful atmosphere, with both parties discussing ways to improve peace, cooperation, and development projects across Zamfara State.

ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENDS DANGOTE FOUNDATION FOR SUPPORT TO THE LESS PRIVILEGED AND PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

The Zamfara State Government has commended the Dangote Foundation for its outstanding efforts in supporting orphans and people with special needs, particularly through the provision of food assistance at a time when many citizens are in need of relief.

The Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi, made this known while speaking at the official flag-off ceremony for the distribution of rice donated by the Dangote Foundation to vulnerable groups across the state. The event was held at the Zamfara State Zakat and Endowment Board, where the items are to be distributed to beneficiaries with special needs.

According to the Deputy Governor, the Foundation donated 20,000 bags of 10kg rice, with each ward across the fourteen local government areas of the state receiving 80 bags.

Mani Malam Mummuni praised the Dangote Foundation, established by renowned business magnate Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and called on other wealthy individuals in the country to emulate such humanitarian gestures by initiating similar programs aimed at supporting the vulnerable in society.

He also commended the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, for his continuous efforts in assisting the people, especially during this critical period. He noted that the state government has provided six cows to associations of persons with special needs to enable them to celebrate alongside others.

In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi, reiterated the state government’s position regarding its political alignment, stating that the move from the PDP to the APC is aimed at fostering greater development in the state, particularly in the area of security.

ZAMFARA STATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR ATTENDS THE THIRD (3rd) STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING FOR THE YEAR 2026.

The Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi Matawallen Bukkuyum attended the third State Executive Council meeting for the year 2026. The meeting was held today at the Council Chamber, Government House, Gusau and was chaired by the State Executive Governor, Dauda Lawal.

The meeting focused on several critical areas, including: Construction and Reconstruction of Roads: Ensuring safe, durable, and accessible road networks to connect communities and promote economic growth.

Rehabilitation and Renovation of Juma’at Mosques: Strengthening religious institutions as centers of community and spiritual developments.

The meeting was attended by top Government officials to deliberate on key issues aimed at enhancing development of the State.
