*EXPANDED GODMA BOARD MEETING*

Friday 14th August, GODMA Board convened an expanded meeting of the Board comprising of SMOH, HSMB, GSPHCDA, GoHealth, GoPharma and Amash Pay to discuss DRF operations and also the findings of GODMA Taskforce.
Among the issues discussed are:
1. Absentism of Health workers from workplace
2. Amash Pay operations,
3. Difficulties accessing health comodities from GoPharma warehouse by facilities,
4. Unlicensed operators at dispensing units
5. Facilities not topping their wallets to inform resupply of commodities among other issues.

Resolutions at the meeting include;
1. GODMA to share findings on staff misconduct with GSPHCDA and HSMB for necessary application of civil service rule.
2. HSMB and GSPHCDA to work collaboratively with a view to posting some pharmacists to high volume PHCs.
3. The Min of Health to constitute a team for Amash Pay MOU review.
4. GoHealth to work out possibilty of extending 12 month loan deductions from apex PHCs capitation.

The chairman appreciated everyone that attended the meeting and called for sustainance of such engagement.

14th GODMA Board Meeting – Q1 2026
The Governing Board of Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GODMA) convened for its 14th Board Meeting and Q1 2026 strategic session on May 7, 2026, at the Agency's Conference Hall, with notable success.
Distinguished Board members and key stakeholders engaged in productive discussions, strategic planning, and thoughtful deliberations during the meeting, focusing on critical issues that will strengthen the Agency's operations, enhance service delivery, and advance healthcare outcomes statewide.
The Board reviewed ongoing activities, assessed progress on key initiatives, and explored innovative approaches to enhance efficiency, accountability, and sustainable growth within the Agency, demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration, transparency, and collective responsibility.
The Board acknowledged the active participation, valuable contributions, and dedication demonstrated by members throughout the meeting, highlighting the importance of teamwork and shared leadership in achieving institutional goals.

FINAL VALIDATION OF REVIEWED GODMA OPERATIONAL GUIDELINE

In its effort to strenghten the operations of GODMA and also spell out the the agencie's relationship with its Company Go-Pharma as well as gain expert opinion with respect to sactions to be metted on erring operators of the scheme, the validation committee took feedback and guidance from the State Solicitor General/PS Min of Justice who incidentally is a member of the GODMA Governing Board.

This one day activity marks the end of the validation excercise and the reviewed operational guideline will be made available to the operators of the scheme after securing approval of the GODMA Board.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun, The death has occured of Hajiya Fatima, mother in law to GODMA Board chairman after a proctracted illness. Janaizah is slated for 4.00pm today at Federal Teaching Hospital Masjid.

The GODMA Board was well represented at the Wedding fatihah of Dr Mohammed Ismail Jibrin, a son to GODMA Board Chairman Dr Ismail M. Jibrin which took place on the 26th December, 2025 at Al-furkan mosque Kano.

*GODMA Board Retreat*

The Board of the Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GODMA) convened a two-day retreat from 11th to 12th December, 2025 at Chartwell Hotel, Bauchi. The retreat was designed to strengthen the Board’s capacity in leadership, governance, financial management, and oversight, in line with GODMA’s board's oversight mandate to ensure effective management of drugs and medical consumables.

The retreat brought together Board members and top management staff to reflect, learn, and align on best practices for improved institutional performance.

Objectives of the Retreat include:

1. Enhance the leadership skills of Board members for effective strategic direction.

2. Deepen understanding of good governance principles and their application within GODMA.

3. Strengthen knowledge of public sector financial management, accountability, and control systems.

4. Clarify the roles and responsibilities of the Board in providing effective oversight of management and agency.

The sessions were facilitated by experienced consultants, who guided discussions using practical examples, interactive sessions, and case studies relevant to public sector agencies.
