If truth must be told and sentiments set aside, Dr. Aminu Umar Yuguda undoubtedly stands out as the right person to take up the mantle of leadership of Gombe State after Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya.
Leadership in the contemporary world demands a higher level of professionalism than ever before in order to effectively address the complex challenges of our time. This is particularly important for states like Gombe, which remains one of the three states receiving the lowest federal allocations and is located within one of the poorest regions of the country.
Like every other state in Nigeria, Gombe is far too important to be left in the hands of charlatans or inordinately ambitious politicians whose primary aim is merely to feather their own nests and those of their cronies at the expense of millions of citizens. What we need instead is a leader who truly believes in our state and in its potential for continued progress and prosperity. Gombe deserves a governor who will see the three senatorial districts as his constituency, irrespective of the district he comes from.
The next governor of Gombe State should be an insider—someone who understands the workings of the present administration and can hit the ground running without wasting valuable time trying to grasp the realities of governance.
Our state deserves a well-rounded technocrat who can sustain, consolidate, and expand the growth and development initiated by the current administration.
Without fear of contradiction, I can confidently say that Dr. Aminu Yuguda possesses the ideal combination of knowledge, experience, integrity, networks, broad acceptability, and visionary leadership required to move the state forward. His exceptional leadership qualities and remarkable professionalism make him well suited to steer the ship of Gombe State toward greater progress and excellence.
During his years of exemplary service as the Accountant General of Gombe State, Dr. Aminu Yuguda distinguished himself as a disciplined and responsible public servant who has mastered the principles of accountability, transparency, and fiscal prudence.
Beyond his professional competence, he is widely known to be hardworking, philanthropic, charismatic, faithful, and sincere in all his commitments. He is also a leader who carries people along and believes in inclusive governance.
If given the opportunity to serve, there is every reason to believe that Dr. Aminu Yuguda will transform our dear state economically, socially, and institutionally.
