I extend my warmest greetings to all Nigerians, particularly our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate the joyous occasion of Easter.

Easter serves as a profound reminder of the triumph of justice over oppression, light over darkness, and hope over despair.

It is a season that calls for deep reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, resilience, and the ultimate restoration of what is right.

As we celebrate, let us draw inspiration from the lessons of Easter to build a more harmonious nation.

Let us treat one another with the same empathy and fairness that we seek from our institutions.

May this period bring a resurrection of transparency in our public offices and a renewed sense of patriotism in our hearts.

Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done."

Wishing you all a peaceful, reflective, and Happy Easter celebration.

PCC RESOLVES A LONG STANDING CONFLICT BETWEEN NNPCL AND ITS ESTWHILE EMPLOYEE

The Gombe State Office of the Public Complaints Commission has resolved a long standing industrial dispute between Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and one of it's erstwhile employees.

Earlier, a distressed and aggrieved complainant, Mr. Patrick Tarurhor had filed a complaint with the Commission alleging non-payment of benefits against the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.

The complainant stated that he had served the agency for 16 years prior to the termination of his appointment in 1996.

He lamented that despite writing several letters to his employer detailing his situation and financial struggles since the termination of his appointment, all efforts were met with indifference.

Upon receiving the case, the Commission took action by writing severally to the respondent, NNPCL but as alleged by the Complainant there was no response.

Over the course of a long period, Correspondences and on the spot visitations were carried out but regrettably, these efforts were largely ignored by the NNPCL

Determined to ensure justice, the Commission never relented in it's effort. Fortunately,, this year, following the most recent letter sent on January 8, 2026 and a visit, the Respondent reacted positively and paid Mr. Patrick Tarurhor his benefits in February 2026 with a promised to place him on Pension.

While receiving an appreciation letter from the Complainant in his Office, the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Bashir commended the Complainant for his patience and frowned at the attitude of Public organizations towards the Commission's efforts to promote administrative best practices.

In his response, Mr. Patrick expressed satisfaction with the Commission's handling of his case and appreciation for the efforts made in addressing his grievances.
