The flagging-off and distribution of Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Debit cards to beneficiaries via Teasey pay Payment service providers (PSP)in Gombe State marks a significant initiative aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing the livelihoods of vulnerable households. We appreciate the Gombe state government for its support and for providing a conducive environment for the smooth running of the activities of assisting the poor and vulnerable in the state.

The event was officially opened by Hajiya Aisha Adamu, the Coordinator of the Social Investment Program Agency in Gombe State, who was represented by Mallam Murtala Sambo, the Director of Administration and Finance, alongside Jatau Abubakar State Program Manager Household Uplifting Program

The National Cash Transfer Programme (NCTP), under the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management. National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), is designed to provide financial assistance to identified poor and vulnerable households across Nigeria. In Gombe State, this program is projected to benefit thousands of households, with each beneficiary receiving a stipend of ₦25,000. Per cycle , the initiative encompasses capacity building, coaching, and mentoring to empower beneficiaries towards self-sufficiency.

The distribution of CCT ATM cards is a crucial component in ensuring that beneficiaries receive their stipends in a timely and secure manner. It is anticipated that this initiative will positively impact the lives of vulnerable households in Gombe State.

GOMBE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN PLEDGES TO REVIVE HOUSE-TO-HOUSE ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICERS TO PROMOTE GRASSROOTS HEALTH AND SAFETY

In a bid to enhance the health and well-being of residents at the grassroots level, the Executive Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council, Hon. SANI AHMED HARUNA the Digital ALGON Chairman has promised to revive the activities of house-to-house Environmental Health Officers.

The Chairman made this commitment during a recent meeting with stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of grassroots health and safety initiatives.

The revival of the house-to-house Environmental Health Officers program aims to:

- Promote healthy living practices among residents
- Enhance awareness on environmental health issues
- Identify and address health hazards at the household level
- Strengthen community engagement and participation in health initiatives

The Chairman emphasized that the program will focus on:

- Door-to-door sensitization and education
- Household waste management and sanitation
- Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices
- Disease prevention and control

By reviving this program, the Chairman aims to bring health and safety initiatives closer to the people, addressing health concerns from the grassroots up.

The Chairman called on residents to support and cooperate with the Environmental Health Officers, and Traditional Rulers ensuring the success of this initiative and ultimately, a healthier and safer community."

GOMBE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN CONVENES SECURITY MEETING WITH POLICE, DSS, CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS

In a proactive move to ensure the continued peace and security of Gombe Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon.SANI AHMED HARUNA today convened a security meeting with top officials of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and religious leaders.

The meeting, held at the Council's headquarters, aimed to discuss and address emerging security concerns, share intelligence, and foster collaboration among the security agencies and religious leaders.

In attendance were:

- The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Gombe
- The DSS Representative in Gombe
- The NSCDC Commandant in Gombe
- Religious leaders
- and Departmental Security Officer DSO

The Chairman, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in maintaining peace and security in the area. He urged the security agencies and religious leaders to work together to identify and address potential security threats.

The meeting featured discussions on:
