🌱 First, what is a genotype?

Your genotype is the genetic makeup you inherit from your parents. In everyday medical checks, we usually talk about:
AA – Normal
AS – Carrier of sickle cell trait
SS – Sickle cell disease
AC / SC – Other abnormal hemoglobin types (less common but important)

🧬 Genotype Compatibility for Intending Couples
Your genotype shows how your genes combine with your partner’s and helps predict the health of future children.
AA is safe with AA, AS, or AC. No risk of sickle cell disease.
AS + AS has a 25% chance of producing a child with sickle cell disease.
AS + SS, SS + SS, or SS + AC carry a very high risk and are strongly discouraged.

In conclusion, genotype testing is a simple but powerful step for intending couples. It helps prevent avoidable genetic illnesses, encourages informed decisions, and protects the health of future children. Love is important, but love guided by knowledge builds a stronger, healthier future.

LETTING GO ISN'T FAILURE, ITS WISDOM IN MOTION

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is loosen your grip.
