The Senate today held a fruitful deliberation during plenary, where an executive correspondence from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was received, seeking the confirmation of Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN) as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Senator Musa Mustapha, FCNA, representing Yobe East Senatorial District, actively participated in the session alongside his distinguished colleagues.

The Senate has since referred the correspondence to the appropriate committee for legislative action in line with due process.
