ANYIM WRITES AYU AGAIN AS EBONYI DELEGATES LIST CRISIS GETS MESSIER

PDP frontline presidential aspirant, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has written a second open letter to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prof Iyorchia Ayu complaining about the manipulation of the delegates list for Ebonyi State.
The second letter which came less than ten hours after the first, complained that the authentic list of delegates from the state had been changed and replaced with people who were not elected as delegates.
In the first letter, the former President of the Senate had complained that Ebonyi delegates names were completely missing from the PDP’s national delegates list.
The second letter was also copied to Sen. David Mark,
Chairman of the 2022 PDP Special Convention.
Titled: “Re: Open Letter on the Absence of Ebonyi State Delegates List”, the letter reads, “The Chairman may refer to my earlier letter of today the 27th day of May 2022 and captioned as above.
“I am to observe that shortly after my letter, I noticed in an official publication by the party, list of Ebonyi State Delegates alongside other states.
“It is disheartening that by 6pm today, the Ebonyi State Delegates List has changed from what was officially published.
“There is no doubt that the aim of this gamble with Ebonyi State Delegates List is to disenfranchise duly elected delegates from Ebonyi State from participating in the presidential primary election.

“Let it be on record that anybody not on the list originally published by the party, is certainly not a delegate from Ebonyi State”, Anyim cautioned.

*ATTEMPT TO DISENFRANCHISE ANYIM, EBONYI DELEGATES AT PDP NATIONAL CONVENTION UNACCEPTABLE* - Anyim4Nigeria Movement

The Anyim4Nigeria Movement, a frontline support group for the emergence of H.E Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim as the President of Nigeria come 2023 condemns the omission of national delegates from Ebonyi State, the home state of HE Anyim Pius from the list of voting delegates for the May 28/29th Presidential Primary election of the People'sDemocraticParty.

Available information as at 12noon of Friday 27th 2022 indicates that all the National delegates from Ebonyi State were roundly omitted from those to vote on May 28th. Sen. Anyim has also issued an open letter and drew attention of the PDP National Chairman to this anomaly. We frown at this act, as those are primary voters of our Principal and the omission is seen as an orchestrated effort to demoralise and reduce the chances of H.E Anyim Pius from clinching the presidential ticket.

We call on the National Working Committee through the office of the National Organization Secretary (NOS) and the Special Convention Planning Committee to immediately correct this error to avoid potential unpleasant consequences on the presidential primary election. We also call on the national leadership of PDP to provide level playing field for the presidential aspirants. We thank all the delegates and stakeholders who have been supporting the Greater Nigeria project as we look forward to Sen. Anyim’s emergence as the PDP Presidential Candidate for the 2023 election.

Anyim protests absence of list of delegates from Ebonyi State, warns that disenfranchisement would fundamentally affect PDP primaries.

Frontline presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has expressed deep concern on the absence of list of delegates from Ebonyi State, among the list of delegates from other states of the Federation, for the National convention of party scheduled to hold on the 28th and 29th of May, 2022 in Abuja.
In an open letter of concern issued on Friday, 27th May 2022 and addressed to Prof Iyorchia Ayu, National Chairman of the PDP and Sen. David Mark, Chairman of the PDP Special Convention, Anyim lamented that he had gone through the list of delegates from other states and the FCT but could not find that of Ebonyi State delegates.
Sen. Anyim noted with dismay, that despite assurances by the National Organising Secretary of the Party that, what he called 'technical error' would be rectified, the problem remained as at 12 noon on Friday 27th May.
The letter titled "Open Letter on the Absence of Ebonyi State Delegates List" reads:
"The Chairman may recall that during the meeting of Presidential aspirants and the Special Convention Committee held on the 26th day of May 2022 at the Legacy House, that the entire delegates list for all the states were presented to each of the aspirants.
"On an examination of the list, I discovered that the Ebonyi State delegates list was not included. On inquiry from the National Organizing Secretary, he informed me that there was a technical error and it will be corrected today.
"As at the time of writing this letter i.e. 12 noon 27th/05/2022, I have no clue about the fate of the delegates from Ebonyi State.
"The purpose of this letter is to alert all concerned that disenfranchising delegates from Ebonyi State or any state for that matter will fundamentally affect the election", the open letter warned.

"Earlier today, I attended the Greater Nigerian Conference (GNC) alongside other Presidential aspirants of South-East extraction in all political parties.

For a long time South-Easterners have been making a solid case for the office of the Presidency to be zoned to the South-East in the interest of fairness and equity. I am convinced that the event which came at a critical time will help convince other Nigerians that the South-East has quality candidates to run Nigeria in 2023.

Other highlights of the program was the presence of Chief Clark, leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and Pa Adebanjo, leader of Pan Yoruba Cultural Group, Afenifere and Dr Bitrus Pogu who have consistently supported the South-East Presidential ambition." - Senator Anyim Pius Anyim
