ROTARY DISTRICT 9126 DISCON 2026: ELEMURE OF EMURE-ILE KINGDOM HONOURED WITH APPRECIATION AWARD

His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, graced the Rotary District 9126 DISCON 2026 “Unite for Good” District Conference held under the distinguished leadership of Rtn. Funkeakpo Ken Batife, District Governor 2025/2026.

The conference, themed “Unite for Good: Collaboration for Impact,” brought together eminent personalities, leaders, and Rotary members committed to humanitarian service and community development.

The keynote address was delivered by His Excellency, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, former Governor of Ondo State, whose insightful presentation emphasized unity, collaboration, and impactful leadership in nation-building.

As an active member and strong supporter of Rotary ideals and humanitarian services, His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, was specially honoured with an Appreciation Award as the Royal Father of the Day during the DISCON 2026 event.

The prestigious award was presented on behalf of the District Governor by the keynote speaker, His Excellency Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, in recognition of Kabiyesi’s unwavering support for community development, humanitarian service, and Rotary activities.

The recognition further reflects the enduring commitment of the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom to peace, service to humanity, and societal advancement.

ELEMURE OF EMURE-ILE REAFFIRMD COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY SECURITY WITH REFURBISHED PATROL VEHICLE

Today, on behalf of the Elemure-in-Council and the entire people of Emure-Ile Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, officially presented the refurbished police patrol vehicle (Toyota Hilux) attached to the Police Division in Emure-Ile to further enhance the security of the kingdom.

In his remarks, the monarch emphasized the importance of the patrol vehicle to the safety and security of the community. He highlighted the extensive work carried out on the vehicle, including the installation of a new engine and the complete renovation of both the interior and exterior parts of the vehicle. The Elemure also urged the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle for effective and long-lasting use.

Speaking during the presentation, the Chairman of Owo North-West LCDA, Chief (Barr.) Eniola Ajipe, further stressed the importance of maintaining the vehicle and pledged the sum of ₦50,000 monthly on behalf of the LCDA towards its maintenance.

In response, the DPO appreciated the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom and the entire community for their collective efforts in restoring the police patrol vehicle. He assured the gathering that the vehicle would be properly maintained and disclosed that the Commissioner of Police had already deployed a qualified driver to handle the vehicle.

His Royal Majesty also appreciated all sons and daughters of Emure-Ile Kingdom who contributed in one way or another towards the successful completion of the project.

The ancient town of Emure-Ile Kingdom was filled with joy, cultural splendor, and royal excitement as one of its distinguished sons and respected High Chiefs, Chief Julius Kosemani Otedugba, the revered Aro-Otedugba of Emure-Ile Kingdom, graciously hosted the much-anticipated “Ajo Ilu and Akonwoye” celebration in grand style.

The colourful event, held at the ancient and renowned Elemure of Emure-Ile Palace, drew the presence of distinguished Chiefs, Community Elders, friends, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to honour the Ogboye, celebrate the age-long cultural heritage that ‘Ajo’ represents in Emure-Ile tradition.

The “Ajo Ilu and Akonwoye” celebration served as a symbol of cultural preservation, communal bonding, and appreciation of tradition, reflecting the rich history and noble identity of Emure-Ile Kingdom. It was an occasion marked by colorful traditional displays, musical performances, cultural dances, heartfelt prayers, and expressions of gratitude to God for peace, progress, and prosperity within the land.

ELEMURE OF EMURE-ILE KINGDOM INSTALLS HIGH CHIEF TOKUNBO OKE OLAYODE AS ODERU OF THE KINGDOM

Earlier today, His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, officially installed Tokunbo Oke Olayode of Ebi-Malaso as the Oderu of Emure-Ile Kingdom in a colorful and significant traditional ceremony witnessed by chiefs, elders, sons and daughters of the kingdom, and well-wishers from far and near.

The title of Oderu is one of great honor and responsibility in Emure-Ile Kingdom, as it stands among the highly respected traditional positions within the kingdom. The Oderu is recognized as one of the High Chiefs and also serves as one of the revered kingmakers, playing a vital role in preserving the customs, traditions, and leadership structure of the land.

The installation ceremony reflected the rich cultural heritage and royal traditions of Emure-Ile Kingdom, as the palace once again demonstrated its commitment to preserving customs, honoring deserving individuals, and strengthening the traditional institution for the progress of the community.

His Royal Majesty emphasized the importance of service, humility, and commitment to the people, while encouraging the newly installed chief to uphold the dignity of the title and continue to work for the peace and prosperity of Emure-Ile.

This remarkable event stands as another milestone in the reign of Kabiyesi, as the palace continues to foster progress, preserve tradition, and promote the collective interest of the kingdom.

URGENT APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT AND SONS & DAUGHTERS OF EMURE-ILE KINGDOM

Yesterday, Emure-Ile Kingdom experienced a heavy rainfall that caused serious damage across different axes of the kingdom, including the main Oja Obada Market and several surrounding areas. The disaster also affected important structures such as the Owo North-West LCDA, Emure-Ile Temporary Building, Vigilante Group of Nigeria Emure-Ile Building, and the fence of Premium Catfish, among others.

Though we thank God that no life was lost, many properties were destroyed, several buildings were affected, while electric wires, poles, street lights, and fences were badly damaged.

This unfortunate incident has left many families in distress and in urgent need of support.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, hereby appeals to the government at all levels, well-meaning individuals, and all sons and daughters of Emure-Ile, both at home and in the diaspora, to come to the aid of the kingdom in this difficult time.

Your support, assistance, and intervention are highly needed to help restore normalcy and provide relief to affected residents.
