On Sunday, 30th August 2026, His Royal Majesty Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, graced the 13th Anniversary Celebration and Honours Ceremony of D Chronicle Media Ventures held at the OSDPC Multipurpose Hall, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State.

The anniversary celebration, themed “Agenda 2027: Leadership, Accountability and Progress,” brought together eminent traditional rulers, government officials, media personalities, and distinguished Nigerians to celebrate leaders whose service and leadership continue to make positive impacts across society.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Royal Torchbearer Award to Kabiyesi in recognition of his outstanding commitment to traditional leadership, cultural preservation, peaceful coexistence, accountability, and community development in Emure-Ile Kingdom.

The award is a testament to Kabiyesi’s visionary leadership and his dedication to promoting unity, preserving the rich heritage of Emure-Ile, and championing meaningful development for the kingdom and its people.

A GRAND CELEBRATION OF THE AJAGBO FESTIVAL IN EMURE-ILE KINGDOM

Today, Wednesday, 26 August 2026, will forever remain a remarkable day in the history of Emure-Ile Kingdom, as His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the 25th Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, celebrated his first Ajagbo Festival in grand and colourful style.

The ancient kingdom was filled with excitement as sons and daughters of Emure-Ile, friends, well-wishers, royal dignitaries and members of the public gathered in large numbers to celebrate with His Royal Majesty.

The celebration was honoured by the presence of distinguished royal fathers: Oba Ebenezer Adesanmi Adewumi Ogunmolasuyi II, Olupenmen of Upenmen; Oba Oluwafemi Joel Adeluwoye II, Asuada of Isuada; Oba Joshua Oluwabamise Olotuupa, Alale of Oko; Oba Moses Ajibola Adegboyega Asolo Aderemilekun I, Olose of Ose; and representatives of Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo Aruliwo III, Ojomo Oluda of Ijebu-Owo. Their presence added colour and prestige to the occasion and demonstrated the strong bonds of friendship, kinship and solidarity among the traditional institutions.

Also present at the celebration was Hon. Olufunke Akeredolu Aruna, an aspirant for the APC ticket in Owo Constituency II, whose presence further added distinction to the memorable occasion.

One of the major highlights of the celebration was the grand cultural display by Ajagbo Ulisa, led by Obiton-Ajagbo Asojo Ojo of Ulijin family, and Ajagbo Okede, led by Obiton-Ajagbo Najeem Obasekola of Mere-Magbo family (Elemure Odo extraction). Both groups, together with their respective families and the wider Emure-Ile kingdom, came together to honour and entertain His Royal Majesty, further demonstrating the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage, unity and communal spirit.

The celebration was not only a festival but also a powerful demonstration of Emure-Ile Kingdom’s enduring traditions and the strong bond between the traditional institution and its people.

As the kingdom continues to preserve and promote its cultural heritage, the first Ajagbo Festival under the reign of Oba Bankole Adeyefa II marks a significant chapter in the history of the Elemure stool—one defined by culture, unity, pride and celebration.

IGOGO ELEMURE: A GRAND RETURN TO ANCIENT TRADITION AHEAD OF THE AJAGBO FESTIVAL

Today, the ancient kingdom of Emure-Ile came alive in a remarkable display of culture, tradition, unity and communal pride as His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the 25th Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, stepped out with the entire kingdom for the historic IGOGO ELEMURE, ahead of the much-anticipated AJAGBO FESTIVAL.

The Igogo Elemure is a significant traditional ceremony that holds deep historical and cultural importance to the people of Emure-Ile. Remarkably, this ancient ceremony is being revived after about 25 years, marking a significant moment in the history of the kingdom.

The return of this cherished tradition is even more historic as it forms part of the celebration of the first-ever Ajagbo Festival of His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, since his installation as the 25th Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom.

Today also marks exactly one year since His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, was selected as the 25th Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom—a milestone that makes this year’s celebration even more special and memorable for the entire kingdom.

In a beautiful demonstration of love for the throne, culture and heritage, the people of Emure-Ile came out in large numbers to join their revered monarch in celebrating Igogo Elemure. The streets of the ancient kingdom were filled with excitement, cultural expressions, togetherness and an unmistakable spirit of unity.

The atmosphere across Emure-Ile today reflects the strength of a people united by their history, traditions and respect for the royal institution. The celebration has once again demonstrated that our culture remains a powerful bond that connects generations and preserves the identity of the kingdom.

As the celebration continues, TONIGHT IS AJAGBO ALE, an important part of the activities leading to the grand finale.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, 26th August 2026, comes the GRAND FINALE OF THE AJAGBO FESTIVAL, as the people of Emure-Ile and well-wishers from far and near gather to witness this historic celebration.

CELEBRATING THE AJALE FESTIVAL IN HONOUR OF THE ELEMURE

On Thursday, 20th July 2026, His Royal Majesty, HRM Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, joined the entire Aro-Taase Dynasty and the good people of Emure-Ile Kingdom in celebrating the revered Ajale Festival.

The Ajale Festival is one of the cherished traditional festivals observed in Emure-Ile by the Aro-Taase, in honour of the Elemure, as part of the cultural observances during the Ajagbo Festival, immediately after the Oluwa-Ogajigbo Festival observed by the Ajashen.

The celebration was traditionally observed at the ancient compound of the entire Aro-Taase family, a place of great historical and cultural significance that continues to serve as a symbol of unity, heritage and ancestral legacy for the descendants of the Royal Taase Dynasty.

The festival provided an opportunity for members of the Taase Dynasty, traditional institutions and the people of Emure-Ile to come together in unity, thanksgiving and celebration while preserving the customs and traditions handed down through generations.
