FFS Jigawa State command Conducts Comprehensive Safety Inspection at China Communication Construction Company (CCCC) Fanisau, Dutse.

The Federal Fire Service, Jigawa State Command, on 4th May 2026 conducted a comprehensive fire safety inspection at CCCC Fanisau Dutse, Jigawa State.

The exercise is part of the Service’s ongoing commitment to ensuring strict compliance with fire safety standards and the protection of lives and critical national assets. The inspection focused on evaluating fire prevention measures, firefighting equipment, emergency preparedness, and overall safety compliance within the facility.

The team was led by CSF Bashir Abubakar, Head of Inspectorate, Investigation and Enforcement (IIE), reiterates Federal Fire Service commitment to promoting fire safety awareness and enforcing compliance across all public and private institutions within the state.

FFS Jigawa State Command Delivers Engaging Fire Safety Lecture at NYSC Orientation Camp, Fanisau.

The Federal Fire Service, Jigawa State Command, on Saturday 2nd May 2026, delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on Fire Safety, Prevention, Protection, and Control at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Batch A Stream II, held at the general Yakubu Gowon NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Fanisau, Dutse Jigawa State.

The lecture presented by DSF Muzzammil Gali, combined professional presentation with practical demonstrations where participants were educated on preventive measures, active and passive fire protection systems, and effective emergency response strategies. DSF Muzzammil stressed that safety starts with individual responsibility and urged corps members to extend fire safety awareness to their host communities.

The Command remains committed to safeguarding lives and property through continuous public enlightenment.

FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE, JIGAWA STATE COMMAND RECEIVES NEWLY DEPLOYED COMMISSIONER OF POLICE.

The State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Jigawa State Command, DCF Garzali Ado Ahmad, on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, received the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Haruna, PCS, MNIPS, on a courtesy visit to the Command.

The Commissioner was welcomed by the State Controller, who appreciated the visit and described it as a synergistic approach to strengthening the existing collaboration between the two agencies.

Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of synergy between both agencies, particularly in the areas of enforcement and providing security cover to firefighters during turnout to emergencies, to prevent thugs from attacking the crew.

The visit concluded with an exchange of pleasantries and accolades, as well as an inspection of fire appliances.

FFS, JIGAWA STATE COMMAND RESPONDS TO FIRE INCIDENT AT GALADIMAN DUTSE RESIDENT SAVED ₦160 MILLIONS.

On 20th April, 2026, around 1730hrs, a crew of firefighters from the Federal Fire Service, Jigawa State Command, led by ASFII Ali Ado Khalid, responded to a fire distress call at the old galadiman Dutse resident along Hakimi street Yadi Dutse involving a residential sites and storage facilities.

Upon arrival at the scene, the Federal Fire Service swiftly contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring rooms and causing further damage to properties.

Preliminary assessment indicates that properties worth over forty million Naira (₦40,000,000) were lost, while over one hundred and sixty millions (₦160,000,000) was saved with one fireman sustaining several injuries.

PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY: FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE URGES VIGILANCE OVER FLOOD RISK

The Federal Fire Service wishes to inform the general public of the alert issued by the Federal Government on the likelihood of flooding in several parts of the country, including Lagos, Bayelsa, Delta, Adamawa, Kebbi, FCT, and other identified states. This development calls for increased vigilance and timely precautionary measures to safeguard lives and property.

As the rainy season intensifies, the Federal Fire Service urges all residents to take the following safety precautions seriously:

▪️Clear drainage systems around homes and communities regularly.

▪️Do not dump refuse in waterways, or drainage channels.

▪️Stay alert if you live in flood-prone areas and be prepared to move to higher ground when necessary.

▪️ Avoid walking or driving through flooded areas.

▪️Switch off electricity and gas supply when flooding occurs.

▪️Exercise caution before restoring power after flooding, as damaged systems can pose hazards.

▪️Avoid overloading electrical sockets or using faulty appliances.

▪️Always place generators outdoors in well-ventilated areas, away from living spaces.

▪️Store flammable materials safely and away from heat sources.

▪️Keep emergency contact numbers readily accessible.

The Federal Fire Service is on red alert to provide emergency response and rescue services. In cases of flooding, distress, or drowning incidents, members of the public are advised to promptly contact the nearest fire station.
