Governor Radda Condoles Father of Late President Buhari's PA, Sabi'u Tunde

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, paid a condolence visit to Alhaji Yusuf NTC, father of Personal Assistant to late former President Muhammadu Buhari, Sabi'u Yusuf (Tunde), over the death of his wife, Hajiya Magajiya Yusuf NTC, at the family's residence.

The late Hajiya Magajiya Yusuf NTC, who was the stepmother to Sabi'u Yusuf (Tunde), passed away two weeks ago and was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

Governor Radda prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and bless the bereaved family with the strength and patience to bear the loss.

The Governor was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir.

to the Objection Against the Candidacy of Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura

It is important to address the concerns raised by those who have petitioned against the candidacy of Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura.

These objections appear to stem from political rivalry and personal envy, rather than a genuine concern for the democratic process.

Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura's candidacy is akin to opposing the will of Allah and the course of destiny. His right to participate in the electoral process whether as a candidate or a voter is unequivocal. He possesses every prerogative to express his interest in contesting for a seat in the Daura Senatorial Zone.

It is essential to clarify that neither His Excellency Malam Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda, CON, nor the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has imposed Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura's candidacy. His determination and dedication to public service have been evident in his initiatives aimed at fostering a conducive environment for good governance and cooperation between the Executive Governor of Katsina State and the Judiciary.

Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic skills. Since taking office in 2023, he has effectively coordinated all members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, fostering a harmonious environment without crises or disputes.

Furthermore, he is a committed and responsible politician, actively engaging with his constituents. He consistently attends significant community events such as weddings, funerals, Maulud ceremonies, graduation ceremonies, and project commissioning events, demonstrating his dedication to the people he represents.

His commitment to duty in the House of Assembly is reflected in his regular attendance and influential relationships, which ultimately led his colleagues to elect him as Speaker. Contrary to claims of incompetence regarding his reading and speaking skills, he has successfully led for nearly three years, showcasing his capability.

In conclusion, we should have faith in what Allah ordains. If Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura is destined to serve as a Senator, any attempts to undermine that will be in vain, regardless of the support he receives from the government or political party.

Katsina Academy Players Storm Portugal for IBER CUP 2026

Seven young players from the Katsina State Football Academy will participate in the prestigious IBER CUP 2026 scheduled to hold in Cascais, Portugal, from March 31 to April 5.

The players will feature in the 2010 11v11 Elite category in partnership with Moonluck FC, Lagos, as they seek to showcase their talents on the global stage.

Speaking on the development, the Chairman of Katsina State Football Academy, Ahmed Mohammed, said the tournament presents a major opportunity for the players to secure professional contracts and gain international exposure.

He noted that the competition will bring together top youth teams across the world, including sides like SV Werder Bremen of Germany, UD Almeria of Spain, and Phoenix Rising Stars of the United States.

According to him, the young players will also compete in a tournament that features global football giants such as Manchester United, FC Porto, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Mohammed added that the participation is not only about competition but also about putting Katsina State on the global football map.

“This is a big opportunity for our players to showcase their talent, win prizes and attract international attention. It is also a chance to project Katsina as a hub for football development,” he said.

The academy chairman disclosed that scouting program will commenced in Katsina early by Malta Tonio D’Amato and Belarus. Adding that Kabir Muhammad Kabir will sign a professional contract with Armenian Based Club in June.

“There is also an opportunity for Katsina secondary school students to get scholarships in USA and Europe through football following a soccer combine program in Summer,” Muhammad noted.

The academy chairman, however, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well and make Nigeria proud at the tournament.
