*CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, NIGER STATE CHAPTER*

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Niger State Chapter, heartily congratulates *Comrade Adamu Akayago* on his re-election as the *State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Niger State Chapter* at the recently concluded *8th Quadrennial and 13th Delegates Conference/Election* held on *28th July 2025.*

Your flawless, unopposed re-election is a testament to your *exceptional, resounding, and progressive leadership qualities*, which have continuously fostered *unity, trust, commitment, and dedication* within the teaching profession across the state. This overwhelming confidence reposed in you by your colleagues is a clear reflection of the transformative impact you have made and the strong legacy you are building within the education sector.

We join the entire teaching community and organised labour in Niger State in celebrating this well-deserved victory. As you embark on this new mandate, we pray that Almighty God continues to grant you *wisdom, strength, and divine guidance* to lead with even greater vision and purpose.

*NUT NIGER STATE WING RE-ENGINEER ITS COMMITMENT TO EMPOWER MEMBERS TO BE SELF-RELIANT.*

The NUT Niger State wing, under the visionary leadership of Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago, has re-engineered its unwavering commitment to empowering teachers, especially women, to be self-reliant.

This commitment was reechoed during a one-day familiarization meeting of coordinators and secretaries of Nigeria Women Education Network (NIWEN) across the 25 local government branches organized by the Union on 17th April 2025 at Teachers House Tungangoro Chanchaga Minna.

The NIWEN is a program established by the NUT to encourage women to effectively participate in trade union activities and equip them with the relevant entrepreneurial skills to be self-reliant.

The State Chairman, Comrade Adamu Mohammed Akayago, in his remarks, admonished teachers, particularly women in trade unions, to engage in entrepreneurial skills for them to be economically empowered considering the biting economic realities in the country.

The highlight of the event was the practical training of the participants on the production of air fresheners, body perfumes, paints, and Maggi.

The NUT Endwell scheme BOT chairman, Comrade Jaafar Ahmed, and the resource person Hajiya Ladi K. Suleiman, in their separate remarks,, encourage teachers to prepare against retirement by engaging in any legitimate business and increasing their savings with Endwell/cooperative in order to have something reasonable to fall back on after retirement.
