Today, as part of our continued efforts to strengthen the operations and impact of the CRS ICT Hub, we held a strategic engagement meeting with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The meeting was attended by the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Justin Beshel, and the Director of ICT, Mrs. Mary Ekanem.

The discussion focused on fostering stronger collaboration between the Ministry and the CRS ICT Hub in order to advance digital capacity building, technology-driven innovation, and skills development within Cross River State. The engagement also explored opportunities to deepen support for ongoing programmes and expand initiatives that empower young people and civil servants with relevant digital and technological competencies.

This interaction marks another important step towards building a more robust and collaborative ecosystem for technology and innovation in the state.

From building mastery in Microsoft Office Suites in Week 1,
to diving into effective communication in a digital environment,
time management tools, collaboration platforms, and
cyber security awareness in Week 2…

Participants are not just learning.
They are transforming.

They are gradually shaping their digital journey, building competence, confidence and capacity for high performance.

That’s the power of CIVTECH.

And now…
We are shifting into fifth gear in Week 3.

The momentum is real.
The growth is visible.
The transformation is intentional.

9 hours.
3 intense sessions.
300 civil servants.
One bold beginning.

Today, we commenced the first batch of the CIVTECH programme, bringing together 300 civil servants across different cadres. Remarkably, over 70% of them are engaging with a computer formally for the first time.

Yet, what stood out was not hesitation, it was excitement.
Not fear, but enthusiasm to learn.

This is more than a training.
It is the beginning of a digitisation journey.
A decisive shift from paper to data.
From manual processes to smart governance.

The next 30 days will shape capacity, mindset and performance.

The journey has begun.
