Npower Cross River State celebrates our own, Queen, a leader, and a cerebral and vibrant youth Dr Betta Edu as she embarks on this new path as the Hon Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are proud of all she has accomplished so far in her past roles and are very persuaded that she will do over and above our expectations and make us proud.
Congratulations Ma Dr Betta Edu
and greater heights you will ascend.

N-power: *"No Beneficiary will be left out"* - Honorable Mrs Blessing Egbara

The N-Power Batch C verification process which is currently ongoing in all LGAs has so far recorded huge success as thousands of Beneficiaries have been Verified.

The State Focal Person to the N.S.I.P, Honorable Blessing Egbara in a statement during her visit to Municipal Council Center for Verification revealed that the process is going on smoothly as the technical challenges have been resolved.

Mrs Egbara amazed by the coordination of the Beneficiaries, assured them of her support to ensure that every one of them gets verified, adding that due to a large number of Beneficiaries, the N-Tech, Health-Tech and other programs have to be shared into groups with different days to enable easy verification process.

"The turn out is massive, I'm here to see how the process is going and to make sure there are no challenges on the ground, so far so good the technical challenges have been resolved......."

"I want to also encourage them that no beneficiary who has been deployed will be left out, their verification will be done even if it requires extending the days, we will do it" She maintained.

The Honorable Commissioner further called on Beneficiaries across the state to co-operate with the field officers to make their Job easy and faster.

*IMPORTANT PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT*

*No Charges For The Physical Verification of N-Power Batch C Candidates*

Our attention has once again been drawn to the illegal activity of some people extorting money from N-Power Batch C Stream 1 candidates for the physical verification exercise and the Intending Beneficiaries of GEEP 2.0 Registration.

We wish to sound a note of warning to those involved in this unofficial and fraudulent practice to quickly desist from the act as the appropriate authority has been communicated for appropriate action against those exploiting the candidates.

It is on this note that we would like to remind the general public that *NO FEE* whatsoever is attached to all the ongoing exercises of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) across Cross River State, just as we have emphasized that *NO Application Form* is required for the GEEP 2.0.

The attitude of those that are extorting money from N-Power Batch C candidates and the intending beneficiaries of GEEP 2.0 is illegal, criminal and totally unacceptable.

The Federal Government attaches no monetary charge to the N-POWER application, verification or deployment.

The public is hereby advised not to part with any money to whoever requests payment for ANY of the processes of the N-POWER Batch C verification or GEEP 2.0 Registration.

For further enquiry, please call 08138856504 or 07069363189.

Signed:

Hon. Mrs Blessing Egbara,
Commissioner for Humanity and Social Welfare Services, and State Focal Person, National Social Investment Programme, Cross River State.

Hello NPOWER family!

PRESS STATEMENT ON THE PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING ALLOWANCES OF BATCH A AND B OF THE 2016 AND 2018 N POWER VOLUNTEERS NATIONWIDE

Following the payment system challenges faced by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development which has been overcome, the Ministry has commenced the final payment of the arrears on the few outstanding allowances of Batches A and B N Power volunteers. The accounts of these 14,021 volunteers were flagged in March 2020 by the Federal Government payment system, the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), for various reasons including but not limited to:

1) beneficiaries having multiple accounts, and
2) beneficiaries account receiving other payments such as salaries and allowances from multiple Federal Government Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) on permanent employment or for participating in other schemes. These acts violate the regulations guiding the N-Power volunteer programme and could amount to gross misconduct and corruption.

The Ministry carried out detailed investigation in collaboration with relevant government MDAs and so far the accounts of 9,066 volunteers were cleared for final payment. Based on this reality, the 5 months allowance arrears of these volunteers, totaling N150,000.00 each, is currently being paid. The allowances of the remaining 4,955 is withheld pending conclusion of further investigation. Where clear violations of the agreements are established, such violators will be subjected to appropriate sanctions as stipulated by the law.

Contrary to some insinuations in the public domain, this process is a clear demonstration of the Ministry’s resolve to address this unfortunate incidence in a transparent manner for accountability and to forestall its future occurrence. As it has consistently maintained, the investigation caried out by the Ministry is in the best interest of the Country and has the major goal of institutionalizing the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) and ensuring its efficient management in line with Mr President’s resolve to ensure transparency and accountability in its implementation at all times.

The Ministry regrets the delays experienced in concluding this process, but assures the public that transparency and accountability cannot be compromised in all its activities.
