DIRECTOR OF WELFARE KICKS OFF THE UNICAL PIKIN BURGER

It was with smile on it's face that the sun rose this morning, ready to brighten the faces of Malabites and Malabresses, as the SUG Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, in conjunction with Hunters Foundation, launches today, The Unical Pikin Burger (Akara & Bread).

The breakfast which came as a result of the collective efforts of The Office of the Director of Welfare and Hunter's Foundation, was prepared and packaged in the Republik of Malabor from as early as 7am this morning, and as at 7:30am, the sweet smelling aroma could be perceived.

Malabites and Malabresses came out in their numbers to benefits from this peculiar step taken by an SUG executive. Some say they have not seen any act as such taken by an Executive, some also say they confused it for campaign, iterating that never has such happened after an Executive won elections. Joy was written all over the faces of Malabites and Malabresses as they benefitted from the sumptuous breakfast meal.

The Director of Welfare, in his words said "... I feel very happy and delighted that this project was able to come to fulfilment today, and I am also hoping that next time it will be more and greater"
The CEO of Hunter's Foundation, Comrade Kanebi Emmanuel (aka Hunter) who is also the Chairman of the Welfare team, expressed his happiness that the project has been kick-started, in his own words he said, "... this is an expression of love to Malabites and Malabresses. Hunter's Foundation is bigger than this, but we are starting this way just to empower lives and see how we can Hunt Hunger".
The Vice Chairman of the Welfare team,
Comrade Jude Adigi (aka Mr. 9ice Man), was not left out in expressing his profound joy as he uses the opportunity to call for partnership and sponsorship to help sustain the project and make the project go beyond the current height it had attained.

DIRECTOR OF WELFARE GIVES ADVICE TO STUDENTS AFTER ANOTHER EMERGENCY TODAY.

Earlier today, the SUG Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, and members of his welfare team were forced, yet again, to inconveniently leave their exams and other schedule for the day, to rush a Malabresses who fell critically ill, from Hall 8 to the school's medical center.

To this effect, the Director of Welfare has expressed his dismay over the reoccurring encumbrance he faces whenever he rushes students to the medical center.
He emphasises that most students don't do their registration at the school's medical center, which poses as a challenge in getting them admitted in cases of emergency.

In turn, he strongly advises students to endeavor to register at the medical center, obtain their card and also ensure to go for check-up whenever they experience any symptoms of illness as they will get treated free of charge. He further betones that student should not wait till their sickness gets critical, before they take actions against it, so as to avoid ugly and unprecedented incidents.

FREE FEEDING SCHEME FOR MALABITES AND MALABRESSES

The Office of the Director of Welfare, in collaboration with Hunter's Foundation announces the launching of her Free Weekend Breakfast Scheme.

This free feeding scheme slated to be launched this week is going to be reoccurring monthly, every second and last weekends of the Month, till the end of this administration and it shall be known as The Unical Pikin Burger.

This is one of the many ways the Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, and The Hunter's Foundation wishes to show to Malabites and Malabresses that the Welfare of the Unical Pikin is their primary concern.

IN RESPONSE TO THE HIKE IN PRICE OF SACHET WATER ON CAMPUS

Having keenly observed, for some time now, the hike in price of goods and commodities on campus, especially the price of sachet water, and having carried out meticulously, the needed investigations, the Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, frowns greatly at this act.

In his words, the Director of Welfare describes it as "unnecessary and extortive" for vendors to sell sachet water at the rate of ₦20, and thereby, by this press release, directs all and sundry, Malabites, Malabresses, stakeholders and everyone concerned that sachet water should not be bought at ₦20.
He further sounds this as a note of warning to all vendors selling sachet water at the rate of ₦20, to desist from it immediately as the Director of Welfare and his Taskforce team will, from Monday 15th March 2021, be going round the University community on a strict inspection exercise and anyone found defaulting this rule will be prosecuted accordingly.

He further informs that the Director of Welfare and the entire Students' Union Government executive body, condemns in totality, the hike in price of goods and commodities in the University and guarantees that every commodity will be regulated very soon to ensure that it serves to best interest of Nigerian students.

MALABRESS WHO WAS RUSHED TO UCTH REGAINS CONSCIOUSNESS

It was in the late hours of yesterday Thursday 10th March 2021, at about 11pm, that the Office of the Director of Welfare received a distress call from Hall 8 female hostel concerning a Malabress who was critically ill and had become unconscious.

In his usual fashion, the Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, responded immediately and went there with his Welfare's Rescue Team. With the help of the CSO of the University, provision was made for a van to help transport the Malabress, with the company of her friends, to the Medical Center of the University, and as there was no one at the medical center, she was consequently rushed to University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) where treatments commenced on her immediately.
As the Malabress was not a registered patient of the hospital and as she and her friends had no medical card with them, the Director of Welfare and his Welfare team, with the unreserved assistance of the SUG Vice-president, Comrade Abasiofiok Akpabio, raised money for the payment of her hospital bills.

The Director of Welfare and his Welfare team were at the hospital with the Malabress between 11pm last night till 3am this morning to make sure the emergency was responded to immediately. After it was confirmed that the Malabress was conscious and stable, selected members of the Welfare team were made to stayed with the Malabress and her friends at the hospital till late hours of this morning.

The Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, confirms that the Malabress is now conscious and stable and further iterates that in any case of emergency at anytime, Malabites and Malabresses should not fail to reach him directly on +234 816 190 5334, as he is always available and ready to respond immediately.

THE DIRECTOR OF WELFARE RESPONDS TO THE THEFT AND LIGHTING PROBLEMS IN HALL 6

The theft that occurred in Hall 6 female hostel recently, drew the attention of the Director of Welfare, Comrade Adagbor Destiny Elite, as he went on inspection to the said hall of residence this morning.
After his inspection, he paid a visit to the AO of the hostel, and required that immediate actions be taken against such act, to reprimand the current situation and prevent a future occurrence. He also seized the opportunity to request that occupants of rooms in Hall 6 who are without beddings be giving beddings with immediate effect. With this, he assures occupants of the hostel that those without beddings will receive them in the shortest period of time possible.

Also, in response to the power outage and lighting problem at the down flank of Hall 6, the Director of Welfare brought it to the notice of the AO and immediately contacted the office of the Director of Works and assures that works are currently progressing in it's regard.

Thereafter, he proceeded to Hall 4 to address the eminent issues raised by the Hall's Chairman. The Hall's Chairman reported that the hostel has been left unclean as the hall cleaners are not meticulous with their job. The Director of Welfare took the issue to the AO of the hostel and requested that positive response be made with immediate effect, without delay and the AO promised that response will be visible before tomorrow.
