The May Edition of One Hour With Jesus held today, Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Bonny LGA Secretariat Council Hall, gathered staff, residents, worshippers and intercessors in a deeply spiritual atmosphere of praise, prayer, and solemn reflection. With the theme “Raising A Godly Generation,” the session emphasized the urgent call for moral revival, spiritual reawakening, and the nurturing of children and youths in the fear and knowledge of God. Ministers led participants in intense worship and intercessory prayers for families, the community, and the future of Bonny LGA, declaring that only a God-centered generation can secure lasting transformation.

In a statement by the Special Adviser On Religious Matters, Pastor Carol Benstowe on behalf of the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, JP, assured his commitment to fostering a spiritually grounded society that continues to inspire faith-based engagements across the Local Government Area. He further appreciated all ministers, attendees, and partners for keeping the altar of prayer alive in Bonny, urging residents to remain steadfast as God raises a new generation anchored on divine truth and purpose.

Ibinyefagha Renner Alabere, reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to protecting children’s rights and promoting quality education.

Ibinyefagha Renner Alabere. In a statement during the 2026 Children’s Day Celebration—held on Wednesday May 27, 2026, at the Government Lodge Wing B, Bonny with the theme “Upholding Rights and Sustainable Futures” Chairman Pepple reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting children, safeguarding their rights, and strengthening an enabling environment that prioritizes quality education.

The highlight of the celebration featured a vibrant traditional march-past by schools across the LGA, as Community Primary School, Abalamabie emerged overall winner, followed by Heaven on Earth Primary School as First Runner-Up, and Lucille Education Primary School as Second Runner-Up.

The Bonny Local Government Council hereby informs all residents, business operators, and the general public that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for May will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, represented by the Chief of Staff, Elder Promise Bristol, joined Captain SMC Umeh of the Nigerian Navy to honor the Educational Outreach program in commemoration of the Nigerian Navy at Community Secondary School, Burukiri, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

During the outreach, Captain Umeh emphasized the Navy's commitment to fostering educational development and empowering the youth. He expressed hope that the school bags would not only serve as practical tools for learning but also inspire students to pursue their academic goals with determination.

Elder Promise Bristol, representing the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. In a bid to strengthen security and enhance community policing in Bonny LGA, Chairman Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has presented a brand new operational vehicle to the Bonny LGA Security Surveillance Team to facilitate intelligence gathering and keep Bonny safe.

This is first of its kind in Bonny. Chairman Pepple in statement said this is in line with his administration commitment to prioritize security and safety of all in Bonny.

The Brand New Vehicle was presented by the Secretary of Local Government, Warisenibo Tamunotonye Adolphus Jumbo on behalf of the Chairman.

BONNY ENTERTAINMENT AWARD HONOURS LGA CHAIRMAN, ABINYE BLESSING PEPPLE

The Bonny Entertainment Award (BYA) has honoured the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS , JP, with a prestigious award in recognition of his people-focused leadership and support for entertainment and human capital development in Bonny.

The award was presented on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Chairman’s country home by the BYA delegation led by Justice Prince Tolofari alongside the Senior Special Advise on Tourism and Entertainment, Justus Jim-Halliday, who commended the Chairman’s contributions to youth and entertainment initiatives in Bonny.
