Kuretmenan David Rinmak is a Nigerian scholar, researcher, and creative writer specializing in African oral literature and postcolonial cultural studies. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of English at the University of Jos, Nigeria, where his research focuses on the preservation, transformation, and contemporary relevance of African oral traditions. His work critically engages with the intersections of orature, memory, and identity in postcolonial African societies, with particular attention to how indigenous narrative forms are reimagined in modern literary expressions.
Rinmak’s academic interests span African orature, postcolonial theory, cultural production, and creative writing as a pedagogical and cultural tool. His ongoing research explores themes such as the reinvention of oral traditions in contemporary Nigerian literature, drawing on the works of prominent African writers to examine how storytelling traditions endure and evolve.
In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Rinmak is an emerging voice in creative writing. His works—ranging from poetry and songs to essays and cultural narratives—often reflect themes of unity, identity, spirituality, and social transformation. He is particularly interested in using creative expression as a medium for cultural preservation and community engagement.
Kuretmenan David Rinmak continues to contribute to academic discourse and cultural development through teaching, research, and participation in literary and cultural forums.
It doesn't know that I am a Mushere man, born to the family of Chief and Dr. Mrs. Luka Rinmak, in the late 80's. I am a husband and a father and a sibling. I am an indigene of Bokkos by origin and divine purpose, and an indigine of Mangu by residence and place of birth. it didn't capture the fact that, I am currently an aspirant, contesting for a seat at the national house of representatives for Mangu/Bokkos, under the umbrella of the ADC.
Before 2009, my formative years have been moving in-between Mangu and Bokkos. I have been with the people and know where it hurts. I assure you, this aspiration is purely people centred.
We dare, so, we dream...
