All I Wanted Was To Change The Direction Of Kebbi Politics For The Better

By Dr. Abubakar Udu Idris, mni

Now that the election proper has been concluded and despite the declaration of the gubernatorial result inconclusive, the botommline is the PRP has loss the election at the two ties of the election in the State. Like I said severally, what we had last Saturday was an auction not election as we knew it. Yet, l strongly believe we could still do better if not for internal and external challenges.
But we mustn't rush to judgement just yet for there shall come a time when we sit to discuss and hopefully document the events leading to our poor performance. But, l hold the belief that what ever happened is destined to happen and whosoever did or didn't do what ever is only used as instrument for the fulfilment of devine-will.
Yes, we had assiduously worked to win but it wasn't meant to be. Thus, we should drive sonance in the fact the that not all that we seek and strived to achieve is good for us at the time we needed and selflessly worked for it. I have seen the result of this election as divinely.
By Allah, l contested this election to turn around the fortunes of our our dear State and that of our teeming population. I have no self-seeking interest but to change the direction of our palpable steady moves towards perdition. But the electorate think otherwise. So be it! But, I am confident that history will vindicate us.
In the main time, l would like to use this momentous occasion to express my profound appreciation to all those who contributed to the building of our great party and electioneering campaign in the last years, months and days gone by. For me, l have nothing to regret or lament. I have done what l could and given the same chance and circumstance, l will do it all over again. We mustn't ogonise of an event we could not possibly change to our liking. In the words of the late Iron Chancellor of Germany, 'The river of history flows as it will and if l used my hands, l only intend to change the direction of the water flow but not the flow in itself'. Allah ya kara yi muna jagora.
Regards and many thanks to you all.

PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY ABUBAKAR UDU IDRIS, mni, KEBBI STATE PRP GURBANATORIAL CANDIDATE, ON THE OCCASION OF THE 62nd INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA. I wish to use this auspicious moment to to join fellow compatriots especially, the good people of Kebbi State, on the occasion of the celebrations of the independence of Nigeria. As we celebrate our 62nd anniversary of nationhood, we must also use the occasion to pray for all those who gave their all in the effort to liberate the nation from the colonial yokes and imperial shackles. Our hearts and prayers should aways be with our forebears especially those who made supreme sacrifice so that we will live free citizens in our fathers land. Indeed, the chequrred history of the independent Nigeria is an excellent field for the study of the gains and failures of an independent nation. It's true that independent Nigeria has made giant strides in all aspects of human endeavors but it's also true that Nigeria has missed opportunities to change its fortune for the better.Today, a number of nations that looked up to Nigeria for inspirations, guidance and leadership do not only surpassed us in vision and mission but are also challenging our leadership at regional and international arena. Most of the hopes and conference that greeted our independence in 1960 at local and International levels have literally evaporated. From a highly respected nation, we have turned into one of the most disrespected and Nigerians are gradually turning into one of the most derided nationals. Worse, internally we are facing existential challenges as citizens and the nation's corporate existence is under serious threats. But, all is not lost, just yet. It's difficult but not impossible to transform our nation by getting our acts together once more. We can and we must now or never. Mercifully, we new our problems and we are capable of turning a new leaf. Luckily, another opportunity beacon us come the 2023 general election. All we have to and most do is to elect credible leaders at all levels. Only capable, responsible, visionery and God fearing leaders could move this potential great country to the promised land. Thus, we must not allow mundane differences, self-seeking interest and primordial loyalties to becloud our sense of judgment, patriotism the imperative to move Nigeria forward. We must all strive to get it right at least this time around because, we stand to lose it all if we don't. I am confident in our capacity and determination to turn around the only nation we called our own. Whiile wishing the good people of Kebbi State in particular and all fellow compatriots a happy celebrations, I wish to also fervently pray to the almighty Allah to continue to guide, protect and shower His infinite blessings upon Nigeria. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! Long live Kebbi State!! Long live the Peoples Redemption Party!!!

Salam! Pls be informed that some organizations have organized series of engagements with gubernatorial candidates in the State. One of such organizations is the Kebbi State Civil Society Forum (KESSOF). The Forum has organized a one day Public Forum titled 'Covenant With Citizens' which is scheduled as follows: Date: Saturday, 17th Sept. 2022. Venue: Saffar Guests Inn Conferences Centre, B/Kebbi. Time 11. 00 am. Meanwhile, I consider this kind of event as another opportunity to sale our candidature and party to the electorate. For this reason, l have resolved to honor all invitations to this type of gathering. I am also confident that events of this nature are important value addition to our collective effort to deepen democracy and right choice in our body politics. I was made to understand the six other gubernatorial candidates have also promised to honor the invitation to the seminal event. Accordingly, I wish to extend invitation to the State party leaders, members, supporters and well wishers to this maiden occasion. However, it's to be noted that the venue has limited seats that could not accommodate all of us. - Abubakar Udu Idris, mni

*Thanks a lot for sharing this marvellous political analysis of politics and underdevelopment of Kebbi State in historical and contemporary perspectives authored our own indefatigable Aliyu Garba! Fantastic and excellent analysis indeed ๐Ÿ‘ Thus, it behold upon all like-minded patriotic people from Kebbi State to join forces with our indefatigable progressive political change-maker, Prof. Attahiru M. Jega to, In Shaa Allah, put a progressive PRP government in Kebbi State in 2023. The candidate, Abubakar Udu Idris mni (Dallatun Gwandu) is the best candidate among all the other Gubernatorial aspirants from the other political parties. Hence, it is absolutely necessary to appeal to the good peoples concerned about the suffering of the good peoples of Kebbi State from the wicked hands of the political vampires that dominated the Kebbi State political space since 1999, to join in the struggle to rescue, emancipate and free Kebbi State and its good peoples from the poisonous fangs of the vipers and vampires that inflicted untold poisonous hardship of underdevelopment of Kebbi State through blind looting of the public treasury to become multi-billionnaires from nowhere over the nearly three decades of democracy and Democratic governance in Nigeria๐Ÿ™„ Therefore, this time around, we should all be in the same trenches in trying to rescue, emancipate and free ourselves from the wretchedness in which we all found ourselves arising from irresponsible leadership and bad governance inflicted upon us by barbarians that dominated the political arena for so long. Allah Ya sa mudace, Ya kuma bamu nasara. Ameen Thumma Ameen ๐Ÿ™*

We Lack Commitment To Walk The Talk

By Abdullahi Udu Idris, mni

Like l said severally, we are never short of ideas but we are always short of commitment to implement ideas/policies/programs mutually agreed upon.
However, I wish to add that we have improved varies of all kinds of cereals and legumes at the College of Agri., Samaru, Zaria. What we don't have is the willingness to establish a sustainable relationship with the College.
We equally lack leadership to discouge the age old unholy practice of perennial migration of our able bodied men to the South for menial jobs. The truth is that we aren't walking our talks on anything important. In Agric., Education and Health Care Delivery as in all other sectors, leadership failure is clear even to the blind. As I write, l don't know of any sector which we excelled about to excel.
This is why l personally don't accord much attention to serious discussion on issues that require public sector engagement because l knew for certain nothing will come out of it.
But this doesn't mean in the future, hopefully in our lifetime, some or all of recommendations proffered on platforms especially those that have direct bearing to the development of our State will be implemented.
