NISAYA LEADERSHIP IN ABUJA, HOLD STRATEGIC MEETING WITH SENATE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN ON ETHICS PRIVILEGES AND PUBLIC PETITION AT THE SENATE HOUSE AS THEY BEGIN NATIONWIDE ADVOCACY FOR YOUTHS AND STUDENT DEVELOPMENT.
In pursuit for youths and students development in Nigeria, some leaders of NISAYA from the national, regional and state level have begin a nation wide reach out to the federal government, advocating for youth inclusiveness in leadership, scholership, partnership, sponsorship, employment, respect for freedom of speech and human right amongst others.
NISAYA's core mandate as a body responsible for both youths and students of Nigeria is to see a progressive working society where youths thrive in all their endeavors.
It's on this note that they paid a courtesy visit to the chairman Senate committee on ethics privileges and public petitions, distinguished Sen. Neda Bernard Imasuen and other distinguished senators at the red chambers of the national assembly complex to discuss all of this issues and chat ways forward towards accomplishing this goals and abjectives.
Speaking, the national secretary general of NISAYA Comr. Francis Chinecherem Joseph, told the senator of the recent police brutality against one Nigerian youths who was killed in Sweden, in which he informed him that they have since started investigation through reaching out to the family and their lawyers, and making effort to reach out to the sweden embassy in Abuja to provide the officer who perpetuated this grievous act to allow him face the full wrath of the law and compensation paid to the family of the deceased.
The south south deputy coordinator and former Director of student and youth project, national, NISAYA. Amb. Terry Prince Osemwengie told the senator of the overall aims and objectives of NISAYA and that the organisation is in the 36 states of the federation including Abuja, stating that the core mandate of the association is to represent the general interest and development of youths and students in Nigeria which need the sincere support, collaboration and funding from federal government.
He appeal for the inclusion of NISAYA into the ministry of youth or that relevant agencies annual budget, he went further to inform Senator Imasuen of the ongoing project tag the south south NISAYA educational outreach initiative where distribution of educational material has since commence since mid last year in the south south zone, stating that 200 secondary, primary schools and 35 universities would be receiving distribution of educational materials and sanitary pads, Furthermore, Amb Osemwengie appeal for support and collaborations from the federal government and well meaning Nigerians.

National Director, External Affairs NISAYA. Said that nisaya is not just an association but an embodiment of over 100 million Nigerian youth, serving as a small family unit across the nation. She said the the burden of the economy has further deprive students and youths from fatherly, motherly and even big sister or brother care because they are too busy trying to make ends meet and this is where NISAYA comes to stand in between the gaps.
Responding, Sen. Imasuen, welcome NISAYA in a receptive manner and responded to all concerns, request and advocates raised, he said he recognize the difficulties faced with the organization and offer to draw supprt through various relevant agencies responsible for youths and students, saying that he will do everything possible to support and give NISAYA all the neccessary guidance and collaboration particular in his senatorial district. Furthermore, he asked that we report back on the case of the Nigerian youth killed in Sweden and promised to take it up from there, saying as the chairman committee on ethics privileges and public petition he will relate it to the appropriate channels and follow it up to a logic conclusion. He asked that we put in writings all request and concerns to enable him respond swiftly and promptly.
