It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our retired colleague, Mr. Timothy Idowu on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Mr. Idowu served this Directorate with dedication and commitment during his active years, and his contributions will always be remembered.

On behalf of the management and entire staff we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family in this trying time.

Our team from the National Orientation Agency, Edo State Directorate, conducted a successful engagement at Freedom Assembly Group of Schools!

We connected with teachers, students, and staff to discuss 5 crucial thematic areas:
National Value Re-Orientation: Against 'Sign Out Extreme Practices'
Flood Mitigation Awareness
Government Policies & Programs Enlightenment
Nigerian Identity Project & National Symbols
National Security Awareness

Led by State Director Osahon Bamidele Woghiren (Esq), represented by Mr. Eghosa Imahiyereobo & Mr. Omokhafe Kolawole, the visit aimed to keep everyone abreast of government initiatives.

Students were lectured on National Values and received National Identity Project materials, including new National Anthem pamphlets.

Key Observations:
✅ Students and teachers are aware of the ban on extreme graduation parties.
✅ The lectures and materials were highly appreciated.
✅ Great interest in ! Students and teachers asked for the NELFUND website!

We had a strategic advocacy visit with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Edo State Secretariat, recognizing their vital role as community gatekeepers and influencers.

Led by State Director Osahon Bamidele Woghiren (Esq), our team discussed 5 key areas:

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Edo State Directorate, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, held an engagement session with teachers, students, and staff of secondary schools at the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA), Benin City.

The program is part of the Nationwide Enlightenment Campaign on Five Thematic Areas:
1️⃣ National Value Re-Orientation for Students of Secondary Schools & Tertiary Institutions Against “Sign Out Extreme Practices”
2️⃣ Flood Mitigation Awareness
3️⃣ Government Policies & Programmes
4️⃣ Nigerian Identity Project & National Symbols
5️⃣ National Security Awareness & Sensitization

📌 Key Message:
Speaking on behalf of the State Director, Barr. Osahon Bamidele Woghiren, NOA officers emphasized the need for young Nigerians to be well-informed about government policies, national values, and identity.

✅ Students received sensitization on National Values as enshrined in the Constitution.
✅ Pamphlets of the new National Anthem version and Identity Project materials were distributed.
✅ Students showed awareness of the ban on extreme graduation parties.
✅ They requested more IEC materials to deepen the understanding of National Values.

This engagement reinforces NOA’s mandate to promote patriotism, unity, and active citizenship among Nigerian youths.

The Federal Ministry of Interior has launched INTERAS (Interior Electronic Records & Archiving System), becoming the 18th ministry to adopt Nigeria’s paperless Enterprise Content Management platform. Built on an 8.3-petabyte Tier-4, solar-powered data centre, the system replaces physical file movements with secure electronic workflows, cutting delays in approvals and archiving. Alongside this, the Ministry is strengthening its Performance Management System, where directors and department heads sign performance contracts and hold weekly “PMS Day” sessions to track targets. By tying measurable KPIs to digital workflows, the Ministry aims to boost accountability and align departmental plans with federal reform priorities.
