IKPOBA-OKHA CHAIRMAN DONATES 500KVA TRANSFORMER, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO RURAL ELECTRIFICATION
The Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Jolly Obosa Ogbeide has received a 500kVA transformer at the council secretariat for onward donation to Osauwenze Street, by 3 House, in Ward 8 of Ikpoba-Okha LGA This gesture aligns with his administration’s rural electrification agenda and is in line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE agenda for Edo State, which prioritizes infrastructure development, energy access, and improved quality of life for citizens.
Speaking at the presentation, Rt. Hon. Ogbeide said: “Our people deserve uninterrupted power supply to live better, do business, and stay secure. Though we have only spent a few months in office, our administration has already recorded viable and verifiable projects that touch the lives of our people directly. We are committed to sustaining this momentum and making Ikpoba-Okha a model for grassroots development in Edo State.”
He further revealed that about 12 transformers have been donated and handed over under his watch, with some already installed and others at various stages of installation. Similarly, the council is pleased to announce that significant progress has been made on the electrification project connecting Obayantor 1 community to the national grid. The project spans over 4 kilometres and marks a major milestone toward providing residents with stable and reliable electricity supply. Construction is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed in the shortest possible time. Once completed, this project will improve the quality of life in Obayantor 1, spur economic activities, and enhance overall community development.
