Udoh and his team, embarked on a comprehensive technical working visit to the Greater Onitsha Regional Water Scheme, reaffirming the Corporation’s commitment to improved water infrastructure and efficient service delivery across the state.
The inspection tour covered the three major components of the scheme, namely the GRA Package Treatment Component, the Crash Programme Owelle-Ebo Component, and the Terminal Reservoir/Army Barracks Component. The visit provided the OIC with the opportunity to assess firsthand the level of progress achieved on the ongoing projects being executed by the two vendors, OVAMAN Pumps Limited and BIRSA Water Limited.
During the exercise, Mrs. Okafor engaged extensively with the Onitsha ASUWAHC Zonal team, encouraging staff members to remain dedicated, proactive, and committed towards achieving the Corporation’s vision of sustainable and efficient water supply delivery.
She also commended the vendors for the remarkable milestones recorded so far, while constructively identifying areas requiring further improvement to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
The visit ended on a highly positive note, as both the Onitsha Zonal team and the vendors expressed renewed motivation and confidence following the OIC’s impactful engagement, leadership-driven inspection, and commitment to advancing the Greater Onitsha Regional Water Scheme.
