The Federal Fire Service Ondo Command, held its weekly capacity-building lecture anchored by the Head of Training and Development, DSF C.M. Joshua, and attended by key senior officers, including the Head of Watchroom, SF Awoshika Tolu, and the Head of Provost, DSF Ogunmodede Titus.

The session featured a guest speaker from the Nigeria Immigration Service, ACI Dr. Aderibigbe, who spoke on the topic 'The NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE: ITS BENEFITS AND SELF-IDENTIFICATION'. He delivered an insightful presentation on the service's various directorates and their respective functions.

He also discussed the different types of passports and encouraged officers to pursue further education, scholarships, relevant seminars, and professional courses that align with their fields of specialisation. Emphasising the importance of personal and professional development, the guest speaker encouraged officers to focus on developing themselves rather than making travel their primary goal. He further advised them to travel honourably and through legitimate means.

The interactive session concluded with closing remarks by SF Awoshika Tolu, who expressed appreciation to the guest speaker for the enlightening presentation on migration and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE ONDO COMMAND HOLDS WEEKLY CAPACITY-BUILDING LECTURE.

The Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Command, held its weekly capacity-building lecture on Monday, anchored by the Head of Training and Development, DSF C.M. Joshua.

The session was attended by key senior officers, including the Head of Human Resources Management, CSF Obagunwa; Head of Watchroom, SF Awoshika Tolu; and Head of Provost, DSF Ogunmodede Titus.
DSF Joshua opened the lecture with a discussion on the Nigerian Criminal Justice System and the legal responsibilities of public officers, introducing the topic with the question: "Can a legitimate officer face a jail term?"

This set the stage for guest speaker CSC Oyewole from the Nigeria Correctional Service, who detailed the Nigeria Correctional Service Act 2019. He explained the dual structure of Custodial and Non-Custodial Services, emphasizing the agency's focus on offender reformation, rehabilitation, reintegration, and inmate rights. He also covered key issues such as prison decongestion, juvenile administration, Borstal institutions, and parole conditions. CSC Oyewole stressed that public officers are not above the law, citing real-world examples of security personnel serving prison terms for law violations.

The interactive session concluded with closing remarks from CSF Obagunwa, who thanked the guest speaker and urged officers to leverage ongoing training to enhance their professionalism.

FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE TRAINS ONDO NYSC CORPS MEMBERS ON FIRE SAFETY AND PREVENTION

The Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to public safety by conducting a comprehensive fire safety lecture for corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko.

Delivered by ASF I Daodu Kehinde, the session focused on proactive fire prevention, swift emergency response, and the shared responsibility of maintaining fire safety across communities.

The program included practical demonstrations on operating first-aid firefighting equipment, such as fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Participating corps members gained hands-on experience in containing early-stage fires and mitigating property damage and physical injury.

Following the practical session, the FFS urged corps members to act as Fire Safety Ambassadors by advocating safety practices and demonstrating calm, responsible actions during emergencies wherever they are posted. The Service highlighted that prompt response and collective vigilance remain critical to saving lives and safeguarding property.

On Sunday, 27th September 2026, the Federal Fire Service, Zone K Command Headquarters, joined government officials, community leaders, and faithful congregants at the Agape Christian Assembly in Akure for a special Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held in commemoration of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

Representing the Federal Fire Service at the solemn and celebratory event was the Zonal Controller, CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka, who was accompanied by the State Operational Commander, SF S.J. Ajayi.

The Thanksgiving Service provided an avenue for reflection, prayer for national peace, and dynamic unity across the country. Speaking on the significance of the occasion, the service underscored the importance of collective effort, divine guidance, and dedication to public duty in building a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.

FFS ZONAL CONTROLLER INSPECTS PROPOSED IKOYA AREA COMMAND FACILITY

The Zonal Controller, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zone K Headquarters, Akure, CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwueabuka, has inspected the proposed temporary facility for the Ikoya Area Command in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, ahead of its official takeover.

The Zonal Controller, accompanied by the Operational Commander, Ondo State Command, SF S. J. Ajayi, and the Head of Inspection, Investigation and Enforcement (IIE), DSF Adegoke, was received by the Abodi of Ikale Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba George Babatunde Faduyile, who facilitated the inspection of the facility.

During the engagement, the Zonal Controller highlighted the key requirements and measures necessary to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the proposed Area Command.

In recognition of the monarch’s support and commitment to the growth of the Federal Fire Service, the Zonal Controller presented an award to the Abodi of Ikale Land.

Responding, the royal father expressed appreciation to the Zonal Controller and his team and reaffirmed his support for the Service.

ZONAL CONTROLLER, FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE ZONE K, PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO AMOTEKUN CORPS COMMANDER IN ONDO STATE

The Zonal Controller, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zone K, CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka, alongside key officers of the Federal Fire Service, Ondo State Command, on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), Chief Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, at the agency’s headquarters in Ondo State.

The Federal Fire Service delegation was warmly received by the Commander and officers of the Amotekun Corps.

Speaking during the visit, the Zonal Controller expressed his appreciation to the Commander and the entire Amotekun Corps for their efforts in combating crime and promoting the safety and security of lives and property across Ondo State.

CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between both agencies and creating a stronger platform for cooperation, information sharing and mutual support in the discharge of their respective responsibilities.

He further commended the leadership of the Amotekun Corps, noting the positive reports about the agency’s contributions to security and its efforts towards maintaining peace and safety within the state.

Responding, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps welcomed the Zonal Controller and his team to the Sunshine State and wished him a successful and fruitful tenure in the state.

The Commander also commended the Federal Fire Service for its dedication and proactive approach to protecting lives and property, particularly through fire prevention, emergency response and public safety awareness.

He assured the Zonal Controller of the readiness of the Amotekun Corps to collaborate with and support the Federal Fire Service whenever necessary, especially in providing security assistance and operational cover during emergency response activities and other official engagements within the state.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both agencies to discuss areas of mutual interest, including inter-agency cooperation, operational support, welfare of personnel, information sharing and effective service delivery to the people of Ondo State.

The visit ended on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a strong working relationship and supporting one another in the interest of public safety and security.

ZONAL CONTROLLER VISITS DEPUTY GOVERNOR AND THE SSA ON SECURITY ON COURTESY CALLS.

The Zonal Controller, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Zone K, comprising Ondo and Ekiti States, CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka, alongside key members of his management team, paid a courtesy visit to the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the Governor of Ondo State on Security Matters, Hon. Charles Olugbenga Atiba, at the State Government Office Complex, Alagbaka, Akure.

The Federal Fire Service delegation was warmly received by Hon. Charles Olugbenga Atiba, who welcomed the Zonal Controller to Ondo State and wished him a successful and fruitful stay in the state.

The SSA commended the Federal Fire Service for its continuous efforts in protecting lives and property and responding to fire emergencies across the state and also appreciate the service for the sensitisation of the people of Ondo State on fire prevention and safety which has rapidly reduced fire incident within the state. He also acknowledged the importance of effective collaboration among security and emergency response agencies in maintaining safety and security in Ondo State.

During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between the Federal Fire Service and the Ondo State Government, particularly in the areas of fire prevention, emergency response, inter-agency cooperation, personnel welfare and other operational needs of the Command.

As part of the visit, the Zonal Controller also had an engagement with the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and the SSA to the Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. Prince Wellington Adebawo.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Zonal Controller to highlight some of the operational needs of the Federal Fire Service in Ondo State and explore possible areas of collaboration with the state government towards improving emergency response and public safety.

The newly appointed Zonal Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Zone K, Controller Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka., yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Grand Imam of Akure Land, His Eminence Sheikh (Dr.) AbdulHakeem Yayi Akorede Albarka JP, at his office in Akure.

Accompanied by key officers including State Operations Commander SF S.J. Ajayi, DSF C.M. Joshua, and others, the Controller noted that the visit was aimed at paying respects to the cleric and strengthening collaboration with the Muslim community to boost fire safety awareness across the region.

Receiving the delegation warmly, the Grand Imam commended the Service and offered prayers for the success and safety of the Zonal Controller and his team. His Eminence also offered prayers for national and state leaders including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Interior Minister Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and Ondo State Governor Hon. In a bid to strengthen community relations and enhance operational efficiency, the newly posted Zonal Controller for Federal Fire Service Zone K (covering Ondo and Ekiti States), CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Olu Falae, at his palace in Ilu Abo. Oba Falae is also the Chairman of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Afenifere.

The visit was aimed at honoring the elder statesman and traditional ruler, as well as fostering a collaborative relationship to support the core mandate of the Federal Fire Service in protecting lives and property across Ondo and Ekiti States.

During the interaction, CF Chukwunonso noted that building a strong synergy with community leaders and key stakeholders is essential for effective fire safety advocacy and emergency management. FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE ZONAL CONTROLLER PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO NMDPRA AKURE FIELD OFFICE

The newly transferred Zonal Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Zone K (Ondo and Ekiti States), CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka, paid a courtesy visit to the Akure Field Office of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The Zonal Controller was accompanied by key members of his management team, including the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Ekiti State Command, DCF Olu James Olatunji. The delegation was warmly received by the NMDPRA State Coordinator, Engr. T.K. Owolabi, alongside members of his executive team.

The visit aimed to strengthen existing inter-agency relations and promote deeper cooperation in fire prevention, petroleum safety, emergency response, and public safety across the region.

Welcoming the delegation, Engr. T.K. Owolabi briefed the Zonal Controller on NMDPRA’s local operations. He emphasized the urgent need to train Class D gas retailers in the state to safeguard lives and property. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity of seamless collaboration between the State Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.

In his remarks, CF Chukwunonso Nnaemeka Chukwuebuka expressed gratitude to the NMDPRA team for the warm reception and reiterated the necessity of a robust working relationship between both entities. He noted that proactive collaboration is vital to preventing petroleum-related emergencies and ensuring a coordinated response during critical incidents.

He further stressed the importance of regular communication, joint safety initiatives, information sharing, and professional alignment particularly regarding the routine monitoring and inspection of petroleum handling facilities.
