*NDC REJECTS FEDERAL HIGH COURT RULING IN LOKOJA, VOWS TO APPEAL*

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Ekiti State Chapter has noted with dismay the judgement delivered on Friday, June 26, 2026, by a Federal High Court in Lokoja, which ruled against the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress as a political party.

We consider the ruling uncalled for and a travesty of justice, especially given that the same court had earlier directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to register the NDC.

The NDC is a movement founded on democratic ideals, inclusiveness, and the collective aspiration of Nigerians for credible alternative leadership ahead of 2027. We remain undeterred.

The party has instructed its legal team to immediately commence the process of appealing the judgement. We are confident that justice will be served and the true intent of the law will prevail.

We therefore call on all NDC members, supporters, and well-wishers across Ekiti State and the nation to remain calm, resolute, and focused. This temporary setback will not derail our mission. By the grace of God and the will of the people, the NDC will carry the day in the 2027 general elections.

The Ekiti State Executive Board of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has been ratified by the National Working Committee, NWC, at its meeting concluded this week in Abuja. The board is led by Hon. Arogundade Musa as State Chairman, with Elder Falade-Daf Ransome Tayo, Esq. as State Secretary.
