Only the eternal glory of God remains unchanging and lasts forever while human and worldly glory is usually temporary. Recognition gained by stepping on someone else rarely lasts. Reputation has a long memory. People may applaud success, but they also watch how it was achieved. Once trust is lost, it’s very hard to rebuild.
