FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE, EKITI COMMAND RECEIVES NEMA ON COURTESY VISIT
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ekiti State, today paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Ekiti State Command at its Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.
Leading the NEMA delegation was Mr Olanrewaju Kazeem Akinade, the Head of Operations, NEMA Ekiti State. He was received by the State Controller, Federal Fire Service, Ekiti State Command, DCF Olatunji Olumide James, alongside his management team.
In his welcome address, the State Controller, DCF Olatunji, expressed delight at the visit and commended NEMA for its proactive role in disaster risk reduction in the state. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) to inter-agency collaboration, noting that fire prevention and emergency response are critical component of overall disaster management.
He further stated that FFS is a key stakeholder in the emergency management chain and open to closer synergy with NEMA in the areas of training, public enlightenment, joint simulations and rapid response to incidents across Ekiti State.
Speaking during the visit, the NEMA Head of Operations, Mr Olanrewaju Kazeem Akinade, said the purpose of the visit was to familiarize, strengthen the existing synergy between both agencies and collaboration in terms of capacity building, emergency management and data sharing.
He lauded the professionalism of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), and called for regular joint sensitization programmes in the state.
