The House of Representatives aspirant for Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Inaleguw Adaje Ejembi, has congratulated the people of the constituency, Benue State and Nigerians at large on the occasion of this year's Democracy Day celebration.
In a statement made available to journalists, Ejembi described Democracy Day as a significant milestone in Nigeria's political journey, noting that it offers citizens the opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation's democratic heroes and recommit themselves to the ideals of good governance, justice and national unity.
The ADC chieftain commended Nigerians for their resilience and unwavering faith in the democratic process despite prevailing economic and social challenges facing the country.
According to him, democracy remains the most viable system of government for promoting citizens' participation, accountability and sustainable development.
Ejembi particularly congratulated the people of Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency for their continued commitment to peaceful coexistence and democratic values, urging them to remain united in the pursuit of progress and development across the three local government areas.
He called on leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of the people through policies and programmes that would address poverty, unemployment, insecurity and infrastructural deficits.
The House of Representatives aspirant further stressed the need for inclusive governance, saying that every citizen deserves equal opportunities and access to the dividends of democracy regardless of political affiliation, religion or ethnic background.
While expressing optimism about Nigeria's future, Ejembi urged citizens not to lose hope but to continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and promoting national development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to championing people-oriented representation and advocating policies that would improve the living standards of the people of Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency if given the opportunity to serve.
