IFAKO-IJAIYE LG CONCLUDES 2-DAY TRAINING ON CVR FOR ENROLLEES
Friday 22nd August, 2025
In a demonstration of proactive governance, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, under the leadership of Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat (UAH), has successfully concluded a two-day training programme for Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) enrollers. The training initiative, held between Wednesday, 20th August and Thursday, 21st August 2025, was aimed at equipping officials with the skills to deliver a seamless CVR exercise in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s mandate and guidelines.
The training, organized by the specially constituted INEC Registration Committee chaired by Hon. Kolawole Fasusi (Mr. Bachel), was designed to strengthen voter participation and ensure easy access to registration across the LGA’s seven wards.
Participants received in-depth guidance on navigating the official INEC portal (www.cvr.inecnigeria.org), handling new registrations, voter card transfers, and record updates, during the Day 1 of the exercise that focuses on orientation and technical training. Emphasis was placed on accuracy, data protection, and assisting first-time voters, especially youths.
The second day featured live demonstrations and mock registrations (CVR Pre-Registration) facilitated by Mr. Sunday Obanubi, who simplified the technical aspects of voter registration.
Additionally, Mr. Sunday Isaac (popularly known as A*o Rock) urged participants to remain professional, patient, and courteous in addressing registrants’ concerns.
Mr Usman, one of the enrollers, described the training as “an eye-opener that has practically equipped us with the tools needed to excel in the task ahead.” Miss Favour, from Ward C, praised the A–Z approach, noting that the practical sessions boosted their confidence in handling the INEC portal effectively.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Fasusi expressed satisfaction with the participants’ performance and outlined expectations to be a daily physical presence at registration centres (8:00am – 4:00pm); Mandatory use of functional smartphones; and Strict adherence to professional conduct, with non-compliance not tolerated.
He assured that enrollers’ payments would be disbursed promptly while emphasizing the need for dedication to quality service delivery.
This training underscores the UAH administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and civic empowerment, ensuring that no eligible citizen in Ifako-Ijaiye is left out of the democratic process.
