IN JUST ONE YEAR OF PMB!
God saved us from the clutches of looters!

In just one year of PMB in Office, I appreciate the spirit of planning put in place to change the mental destruction done to me as a citizen. I used to think that, once I graduate from school, I will have to print my CV and starts roaming into Government and Commercial buildIngs in the city because someone is waiting to offer me a job that will carter for my dreams. This kind of mindset came to me as a result of all the lies our visitors have always drummed into our ears whenever they came visiting us in school. "Read hard and work hard to get the job of your dream". They all drove in expensive cars, wore expensive dresses and chosen their ceremonial words. Not knowing that, the cars and the dresses are all parts of what they stole from public treasury. Their sugarcoated words were politically induced.
In all the most important years of my life, I mean the last 16 years, I was made to believe that a nation can fly without a single Airline, when nations like, Turkey, Ethopia and Malaysia are seen in the sky flying their national colors. I was also made to believe that there was nothing wrong with depending on foreign goods because, we are rich enough to keep importing everything we consume. But in just one year, I paid attention to the realities that are still dawning on me. When Buhari said, we cannot afford paying the salaries of the usual number of Ministers, we all raised against his statement. Now, I know that, he was talking about cutting cost against the culture of spendings known to Political office holders, also as a strong message to their families and relatives that there will be no business as usual. An orientation that not even the National Orientation Agency can handle. My point is that, the nitty-gritty of the PMB's days in just one year, is full of realities and great lessons that give one a moment to reflect on the burden of citizenship. Many have come to realize that, our economy was floating on a bubble, while few individulas in power were badly wrecking havoc to our economy and engaging dubious experts that are feeding us with fake statistics. We now knew why many of them were killing their political opponents just to remain in power. It's not because they want to steal more but, because they always need more time to cover up their mess. Their mess sure stinks beyond four years tenure, they struggle to do the second tenure to put a successor that will clean up their stinky political ass.
Finally, permit me to say that I am now an informed citizen with a brand new mentality and a better understanding of why I was not truly proud my country. I have no doubt that PMB is patrioptically committed in changing all physical structures, dealing with public servants with shrewd mentality and reviving our institutions.
IN JUST ONE YEAR, I KNEW WHAT CAUSES BOKO HARAM, WHY THE YOUTHS WERE JOBLESS, WHY OUR REFINARIES WERE SHUT DOWN, WHY ELDERS WERE MAKING HELL OF NOISE IN SUPPORT OF GEJ RETURNING TO POWER.

19/07/2015

UNLESS WE ALL MAKE VALUE OF BOKO (EDUCATION), WE WILL END UP JUSTIFYING THE HARAM IN IT!
If you don't have business with the Boko Haram, you must have business with human lives that are being killed like insects. The victims are poor people in the other part of the country that you may not live to see them but, they are part of your own lives. You may be claiming to be a Yoruba or Igbo living far away but, you forgot to remember that these victims are the same farmers that are providing our confectionaries with grains for cereals, etc, which you easily pick in your supermarkets. Ask companies like Nestle and Cadburys if their supplies are still normal since the beginning of the BH crisis. Do you know that 85% of the cows that are being slaughtered in all the abattoirs that exist in the Southern parts of Nigeria are from the North Eastern States? This is to remind you that, it is not the IBBs, the Atikus, the Sarkin Kanos, etc that are rearing these cows, but the same victims that the Boko Harams are slaughtering every minutes. You may doubt this but, you are free to ask anyone this questions. How true is it that at some points in our lives as Northerners, almost one family out of 5 is involved in cattle rearing? It is this subconscious effort that continued to fuel in the supplies you have in all your abattoirs. If you still don't get it, ask the likes of Tinubu, Smith (former IGP) and the Oba of Lagos that owned the Companies that are and will be managing the Lagos Abattoir for the next 30years to tell you how they make over N10 Million on daily basis. As they are enjoying this business, they have planned to be exporting meats to Dubai courtesy the cows coming from the Boko Haram dominated regions.
I am compelled to make critical assertion or allegation here. When the Boko Haram crisis was intensified in the North East, the issue of cattle marauders (stealing of cows) in the North West was also intensified, what a logical demand! Could this be some form of desperation to keep the supply of cows to the markets by all means?
NOW, MOST OF THESE CITIZENS THAT HAVE LESS BUSINESS WITH GOVERNMENT PROJECTS YET, WORKING THROUGH OUT THEIR LIVES TO FEED WE THAT LIVED IN FAR PLACES AND CITIES ARE NOW IN IDP CAMPS WITH NO ROOF ON THEIR HEADS, NO FOOD AND NO CLOTHES. ALL WE DO IS TO PRETEND THAT WE HAVE NO BUSINESS WITH WHAT GOES ON OUT THERE?
Let us search our conscience!

Dear Service Chiefs plus NSA,
SERVE AS IF YOU ARE GOING TO DIE TOMORROW
Traditionally, you deserve congratulations but, with the situation on ground, we can only say "permission granted" so, just move on, the world is counting on you.
You know how deadly Boko Haram is to the nation and the continent, you also know how disappointed Nigerians have been with your predecessors, these are your igniting lines.
Therefore, it is not a mere coincidence that all Service Chiefs including the NSA are jointly dismissed and appointed, it is a clear message that connotes a compelling need for teamwork, it is not for envious competition, it is a call to duty and a national assignment to the most finest character in terms of service delivery and performance. God almighty has chosen you for the task, we as citizens have endorsed you via our President. Pls do not let any of us down, learn from the recent past experience(s), invoke the spirit of discipline, always remember the creed of your profession and abide by the rules. Wisdom is key to fighting war, we shall continue to pray for you.
As humans, you may be tempted to listen to the devil in all humans, he may entice you with the beauty of wealth, he may deceive you with the powers in your positions, he may convince you that you are the ones in charge. All these are true but, fight back, that is another war that you must win. Tell the devil that you are not there for the wealth but, for the reward. You are not meant to exercise the power selfishly but, selflessly. You are not in charge but, only when you make the right decisions. If you succeed in defeating this devil in you, you will surely win the war against Boko Haram.
When you are at the battle field with your troops, remember you are commanding humans not robots, as you inspire and motivate them to fight the insurgents, also encourage and provide them all the comfort they deserve. Find out about their welfare, health conditions, always, inspect their arms and ammunitions. Let their families be their source of strength not distraction. For the injured and the dead among them, give priority to their plight and condition, give them a befitting burial as nationalist or heroes. Ensure that their allowances and entitlements are duly paid to them or loved ones.
Finally, to your host communities, be civil and professional. Remember that every community has done it best for you by given birth a soldier or soldiers. If you recklessly massacre a community, you are killing tomorrow's soldiers. Therefore, take responsibilities of your actions and inactions at every cost because, Khaki no be leather. God Almighty will surely see you through. Ameen.
SAVE THE SOUL OF THIS NATION AND WRITE YOUR NAMES IN THE HISTORY BOOKS OF THE WORLD.
Yours,
IG Wala
A Well-wisher & a desperate citizen from the war zone.

POOR PEOPLE'S PRESIDENT: GIVE IT TO HIM OR THE TRUTH STILL REMAINS - IG Wala.
Ever since the humble President promised not to interfere in the work of the other arms of government as mentioned in his inaugural speech, he has continued to respect the laws and promote due diligent. In most of the sacks and appointments so far, unlike his predecessor, the Head of Service, relevant agencies and departments have been responsible for the recruitment process without the President's interference. You may find this unbelievably right, the appointment of the Accountant General of the Federation is a typical example that enjoyed such a presidential decorum.
It may interest you to know how the AGF emerged! Reliably, the President was only approached with the matter of the expiry tenure of the the former AGF alongside detailed procedure on how to choose the next AGF. He was briefed on the number of candidates that were on queue and ready for an examination as provisioned by law. He asked for how soon will the exam be and he was told that it will soon hold. PMB only prayed aloud, "may we have the best that will serve Nigerians patriotically". After a couple of days, he was told that, a candidate has emerged and he is Alhaji Ahmed Idris, who was the Director Admin and Finance in the Ministry of Mines and Steel. Without any doubt or room for aspersion, PMB ordered the Head of Service to announce his appointment.
Commentators observed that the next candidate that almost got same marks with Ahmad Idris was somehow close to PMB but, the President ignored his closeness and chose to promote meritocracy.
WE ARE AWARE OF WHAT HAPPENED AT THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, ALSO ASK OF HOW THE DG SSS, A MAN OF INTEGRITY, WHOM WAS VICTIMIZED JUST FOR JONATHAN TO PAVE WAY FOR ITA EKPENYONG FROM HIS OWN REGION TO EMERGED AS THE THEN DG SSS.

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2015

Fellow Nigerians,
I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections.
I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.
Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more important than anything else.
I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going through the process of the March 28th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that was demonstrated nationwide.
I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.
To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your support. Today, the PDP should be celebrating rather than mourning. We have established a legacy of democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and free and fair elections.
For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away from ethnic and regional politics. We created a Pan-Nigerian political party and brought home to our people the realities of economic development and social transformation.
Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the biggest and most patriotic party in Nigerian history. We must stand together as a party and look to the future with renewed optimism.
I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity I was given to lead this country and assure you that I will continue to do my best at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure.
I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General Muhammadu Buhari.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you all.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR
President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria

BUHARI'S MESSAGE TO NIGERIANS BEFORE ELECTION DAY.

Time For Nigeria To Be Great Once Again
I want to take this last opportunity, before we go to the polls on Saturday March 28 and April 11 respectively, to thank everyone who has supported our campaigns. I am humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity to meet so many of my fellow Nigerians who have helped to carry the message of change across our great country.

This is the fourth time that I would be standing for election as the President of Nigeria. All these years, I have been driven by a keen awareness of the potential greatness of our country and the desire to provide the true leadership that will unleash this huge potential.

I believe that a stable and prosperous Nigeria is not only important to Nigerians. It is also important to Africa and the rest of the world. The evidence of this is the unprecedented attention that our country will receive this weekend. On Saturday, the whole world would wait with baited breath for the greatest black nation on earth to take charge of its destiny. We must therefore not miss the significance of this moment. We must not let ourselves and our country down.

At no other time in our history is Nigeria in such an urgent need of strong and competent leadership. Sadly, at no other time is this leadership so sorely absent in our country. We live in a time of great opportunities and great peril. It is only a leader that understands these in equal measure that can find the rightful place for Nigeria among the great Nations of the world.

I have travelled extensively around Nigeria in the last three months. In the course of my travels, I encountered directly, what I have always believed: that a Hausa man’s desire for security is not different from the Ijaw woman’s desire to feel secured in any part of our country.

An Igbo woman’s desire for her children to get quality education and find employment is not different from the Yoruba man’s dream for his children to become a useful member of our society. A wife’s desperate need for affordable and quality healthcare for her husband diagnosed with prostate cancer in Enugu is not different from a husband’s desire to save the life of his wife diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Lagos.

Invariably, our fears are the same; our dreams are the same; and our problems are the same. Regardless of the language we speak, or the way we understand and worship God, what affects anyone of us, affects everyone of us.

Our economy is celebrated as the largest in Africa, yet our country is home to the continent’s highest number of people living in extreme poverty. Our youth population is larger than the combined population of many of our neighbours, yet our failure to plan and create opportunities for them is turning them to a social time bomb rather than economic catalysts.

A band of ragtag terrorist group has threatened our territorial integrity, killed thousands of Nigerians, displaced our people and abducted our children. The almost 60, 000 Nigerians who have become refugees in neighbouring countries represent a budding threat to sub-regional stability.

However, even in the face of these daunting challenges, I see a great opportunity for change. We have to start by rebuilding the trust and confidence of Nigerians in their government. No citizen will respect a government under whose watch more than 200 girls were abducted.

This singular act can only portray the government as insensitive, incompetent or both. When I become president, reuniting these children with their families will, without doubts, be a top priority. Rebuilding the army and other security agencies will also be a top priority of my government. I will ensure that never again will terrorists find a safe haven in Nigeria.

Recent fall in international price of crude leaves us badly exposed and vulnerable. Dwindling oil revenue also means that we are going to face serious financial challenges in the months ahead. However, even as daunting as this appears, it also provides us with great opportunity to diversify our economy and finally give meaning to the widely held belief that our prosperity as a nation would not continue to depend on the resources buried under our feet, but on the productive capacity of our people.

No matter how much resources we have, if not properly utilized, it would only create a few billionaires and leave majority of our people in poverty. Under the current administration, corruption has enjoyed unprecedented prosperity and this has been at the heart of most of our government failings, including insecurity, broken infrastructure and growing inequality in our country.

My government will have a zero tolerance for corruption. I will set a personal example and run a government that truly serves the people rather than serve themselves and a privileged few. Like I have repeatedly maintained that if Nigeria does not kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria.

We must not allow Nigeria to die. Therefore, we must do all that is necessary to root out this evil that has reduced our great country to a laughing stock of the world. We must begin to rebuild the social fabrics of our society and teach a different experience to our youth in the values of hard work, discipline, integrity and service.

The change that I seek therefore; is a change from the current regime of mindless of corruption and profligacy; a change from fear and insecurity to peace and stability; a change from religious and ethnic divisiveness to unity, equity and justice. This is the change that my party stands for. This is the change that I am committed to bringing about as President. Give me the chance to lead you in rebuilding a Nigeria that all of us can be proud of once again.

As we come out to vote on Saturday, I appeal to all Nigerians to shun violence in whatever form. It is the right of every adult Nigerian to vote and expect that their votes would count in a free, fair and credible election. However, we also have a responsibility to respect the choice of others and grant them the same treatment that we expect.

I also want to call on all our men and women in uniform, the Judiciary, and all others who have constitutional responsibility to safeguard our democracy, to remember that their responsibility is primarily to Nigerians and the survival of Nigeria. They must therefore not allow anyone to use them to subvert the will of the Nigerian people. I believe that their dreams and aspirations are not different from those of other Nigerians.

I have no doubt that with God being on our side; together we can make our country great once again.

Gen. Muhammadu BUHARI, GCFR

NATIONAL ALERT!!!
This is a very important national call on all Nigerians. Regardless of your ethnicity, religion, social status or age, there is danger hovering around us all. We are facing a great threat which is capable of bringing this huge nation of ours down to a state of total collapse, except we act in a most patriotic and impassionate manner to avert this danger. We are preoccupied with politics, but we need to pause, reason and act to save our future.
Here is the threat my beloved compatriots: our country is broke, the federal government cannot meet its financial obligation to contractors, capital projects are at a standstill and federal civil servants are being owed up to three months of salaries. It is worse for the states, many cannot pay their civil servants, not to talk of executing projects for the welfare of the people. The fall of the Naira has made things worse. In the last couple of weeks, if you have been to the market, you would have noticed how the prices of commodities have shot up. Inflation is rising at an alarming rate while income is on a downward slide. We are heading to where nations like Ghana and Zimbabwe got, where a loaf of bread will cost 100,000 Naira. This threat is real, the state of the economy is very bad and the effect is trickling down to the common man.
Let us be very honest, all sentiments aside. Nigeria has earned in the past six years, more than ever before in her history. We earned billions of dollars from high oil prices, so much we had an excess crude account. Our foreign reserve also reached its highest point ever, in our history. All that money is gone and unfortunately, oil prices have crashed. The foreign debts have returned! Obasanjo cleared our foreign debts but within the past six years, we have borrowed over 17billion dollars! Then we failed to develop alternative sources of income while the oil boom lasted. Now the boom is gone and so also all the money we earned. What have we gained from all the money that has been squandered?
Let us be honest with ourselves, are we better employed now than we were six years ago? At the time our government was stupendously rich, did you enjoy any special service as a citizen? Do you have better electricity supply now? Is the cost of living more affordable to you now? Do you have water, better roads, schools or hospitals? And very importantly, our lives safer now and our future more secured?
This is not about politics any longer. It is not about tribe, religion or geographical origin. This also is not about we and them, neither is it a fight or beef or hatred. This is purely about our collective interest as a people. The hunger in Zamfara bites the same way as the hunger in Abeokuta. The suffering in the East and West is the same as that in the Central, North and South. We may speak different languages and profess different faiths, but our fate is the same and we must unite to uplift it.
We have been lied to by this government over and over again. Our dignity has been assaulted as if we are only good to be lied to, cheated and reduced to beggars in our own country. We cannot count, but remember the subsidy scam? The pension scam? The lie about cease fire with Boko Haram? The military say they're winning the present war, but they're not showing us Boko Haram fighters that have been killed, captured or have surrendered. They're only displacing them further into the Mandara mountains so that the government will conduct the polls and they will return after the elections. This is a fact that you can figure out yourself, you're intelligent enough to know when you're being deceived.
My brothers and sisters, in our cities, there's so much suffering, so much hunger, pain and lack. And it is worse in our villages. There is no hope other than the one we make for ourselves. We need to save our country from the present government. The rate of corruption is too much for us to bear. And the government is deep in it and incapable of saving itself, let alone saving us.
Some people say Jonathan is a good man and even if we assume he is, he has been swallowed by the evil system of corrupt officials within his government, the PDP and the oil industry. He lost control of the government long ago as even in his cabinet, there are people he cannot touch. He said the NSA did not inform him before sending the letter for postponement of elections to Jega. Obasanjo punished an IG of police, Tafa Balogun for corruption, during his tenure. Adolphos Wabara, a Senate President and Prof Fabian Osuji, a serving Minister, we're also punished for corruption, among many other public officials. But Jonathan has not been able to punish even one individual, in spite of glaring cases of corruption, not even for the NIS recruitment scam that led to the murder of innocent job seekers, including a mother of two. The man that made the scam is till date, a Minister in his cabinet. Jonathan cannot rule this country effectively and the corrupt forces benefiting from his weakness, including military generals, are the ones fighting for him to remain. Why do they want Jega out at all cost and why do they not want the card reader to be used for the elections? If they're sure they have performed, why are they afraid of a free and fair election? Why do they want a chance to rig our votes, to make sure our standing under the sun to cast our votes ends a useless waste of energy? Doesn't it bother you that someone is kicking against a technology that will protect your vote?
My dear compatriots, at this critical point in our history, we need to make a choice that is wise, devoid of sentiments and in our best interest. In a few days time, we will go to the polls to elect a new President. Please let us elect a man that is not part of the corrupt system. Gen Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity, a man that has never had his name tainted with corruption. He has a reputation of discipline and zero-tolerance for corruption and illegality. He is a man that cannot be pushed around and will not have people around him that are beyond his control. Let us give him a chance to lead us to turn a new leaf in our national life. Corruption is a singular factor that has kept us where we are and even the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has been bearing him witness in her campaigns that he will jail corrupt people. He has shown a passion to serve his country and is contesting for the 4th time. He is ready, capable and fit to give us the leadership that will make us proud to see this nation become great in our life time.
This is a call to national service, a call to save our nation, our future and our generations to come, from the danger hovering over us. Again, this is not about politics, religion, ethnicity, sectionalism or anything other than our collective interest. Please let us make this choice, cast your vote for the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and wait, watch over your vote, protect it and make sure it counts.
Thank you very much and God bless Nigeria.

Overview

The postponement of Nigeria’s fifth election since its return to civilian rule in 1999, together with fierce political competition, a security crisis and severe economic challenges linked to the drop in oil price, have thrown into sharp relief the challenges of conducting this essential process in such a complex environment. While there is widespread speculation as to the reasons for the delay, there is also widespread acknowledgment of the necessity that national elections do now take place as scheduled on 28 March.

General Muhammadu Buhari, former military ruler (1983-85) and now opposition presidential candidate, will discuss the importance of democracy for Africa’s future, and in particular why delivering dividends of elected government matter both to Nigeria and internationally.
