Our Story: Rural Access and Mobility Project – RAMP
RAMP is a Donor Funded Project in Nigeria coordinated by Federal Project Management Unit, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development saddled with critical responsibility to initiate, develop and manage specific intervention programmes towards rural development by ensuring hitch free ex*****on of projects for the provision of roads, bridges, culverts, and other such rural infrastructures to basically promote rural economy. The Rural Transport & Travel Policy started with with Kaduna and Cross-River as pilot States in RAMP-1. Currently the Project has since started RAMP-2 in the Adamawa, Enugu, Imo, Niger, Osun States respectively.
However, the Project in its third phase call Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing, Project (RAAMP), which is now the Third Phase of the project.
RAMP has successfully executed about 940km in Cross River and Kaduna States under First Phase of RAMP. Under Second Phase, RAMP is constructing a target of about 25000km of Rural roads in Adamawa, Enugu, Imo, Niger and Osun States. RAMP has successfully selected 18 States to participate in Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing, Project (RAAMP). The project is currently under preparation. The States include Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross-River, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba.
