Forum of Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria Commends INEC and President Tinubu for Successful Conduct of Anambra Election
The Forum of Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as a “nearly perfect” election conducted in Anambra State over the weekend.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Hon. Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu of APGA, and the Secretary, Comrade Wolimoh Olajide of PRP, the Forum praised INEC for its improved logistics, transparency, and real-time result transmission, which it said marked a significant milestone in Nigeria’s democratic development.
“We acknowledge the timely arrival of election materials across polling units and commend INEC for successfully uploading over 90 percent of results to the IReV portal before 6:30 p.m.,” the statement said. “This is a remarkable feat that should be replicated in future elections, especially as we move toward the 2027 general elections.”
The Forum hailed the newly appointed INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for his leadership and commitment to credible electoral reforms, while also appreciating President Tinubu for his administration’s continued support toward strengthening democratic institutions.
Speaking on reports of vote buying, the Forum urged politicians to uphold diligence, discipline, and integrity in their political engagements, warning that “the world is watching Nigeria’s democratic process.”
FNYLPPN also commended the people of Anambra State, particularly the youth, for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the exercise, noting that no incidents of violence or electoral malpractice were recorded.
“We salute the youths of Anambra for refusing to be used by unscrupulous politicians to disrupt the process. Their conduct demonstrates political maturity and patriotism worthy of emulation,” the statement added.
The Forum congratulated the people of Anambra State for setting a national example and called on citizens in other thirty-five states and the Federal Capital Territory to emulate the state’s peaceful and credible electoral model.
“From Anambra, we are seeing that our electoral processes can truly work. It is a win for Nigeria’s democracy,” the Forum declared.
The Forum also congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on the successful conduct of the election. It attributed the peaceful atmosphere and absence of violence to his administration’s commitment to security and good governance.
“Governor Soludo’s leadership in maintaining peace and security has created a conducive environment for credible elections. His popularity and acceptability among the people are evident in the calm and orderly conduct witnessed across the state,” the Forum noted.
FNYLPPN also reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with INEC and other relevant bodies in preparation for the 2027 general elections, pledging to continue promoting youth participation, inclusivity, and credible democratic governance.
