Yet many women still do not feel adequately represented in spaces where important decisions are made.

That is why Balance Nigeria exists.

This campaign is creating space for more conversations around inclusion, representation, visibility, and participation—while encouraging women across Nigeria to use their voices and share the future they hope to see.

Did you know that many political parties in Nigeria already offer discounts and even free nomination forms for women contesting elections?

Yet women remain significantly underrepresented in leadership and decision-making spaces across the country.

The truth is, political inclusion goes beyond access to forms. Many women still face barriers like limited political support, lack of funding, low representation within party structures, intimidation, and unequal access to opportunities.

That is why conversations around women’s political participation matter now more than ever as party primaries approach across Nigeria.

Through the Balance Nigeria Campaign under the Power of 10 Million Initiative by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, we are amplifying conversations around representation, inclusion, and the importance of creating more opportunities for women in leadership.

As political conversations begin across Nigeria and party primaries draw closer, one important conversation cannot be ignored:

Women deserve greater political inclusion and representation.

Balance Nigeria was created to amplify the voices of women calling for more access, more opportunities, and more seats at decision-making tables.

This campaign is not just about politics.
It is about fairness, representation, and the future we are building as a nation.

And now, we are inviting women across Nigeria to be part of the movement by sharing their voices, experiences, hopes, and calls for inclusion through short videos.

Because a balanced Nigeria is a stronger Nigeria.

One of the most powerful moments from the 5th of May was hearing the passionate and inspiring speech delivered by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, fsi.

As she spoke about the Women’s Charter and the future of Nigerian women, one message stood out clearly:

This is only the beginning.

From state to state and zone to zone across Nigeria, the movement is expanding with a vision to create more opportunities, deepen inclusion, strengthen empowerment, and ensure that more women are actively included in shaping the future of the nation.

Because the Power of 10 Million was never meant to end with one gathering. It is a movement designed to reach women across every part of Nigeria.

The presentation of the Nigeria Women’s Charter on the 5th of May was not just a symbolic moment.

It was a declaration that the conversations around women’s inclusion, empowerment, representation, and opportunity must move beyond words into action.

As the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development - Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, fsi, continues to emphasize, the Charter is intended to serve as a starting point—a framework for creating real opportunities for women across leadership, governance, economic empowerment, education, protection, and national development.

Because Nigerian women are not asking to be remembered only during national conversations.

Women are asking to be included in shaping the future.

And this movement is committed to ensuring that women’s voices continue to translate into visibility, engagement, and meaningful opportunities.

One of the most important moments from the movement was the presentation of the Nigeria Women’s Charter. Because beyond the crowd, and the atmosphere, this was really about women being heard.

The Charter carries the hopes, concerns, and priorities of women across Nigeria, from opportunities and empowerment, to safety, representation, education, healthcare, and inclusion.

For many women, it meant finally seeing conversations that affect their everyday lives taken seriously and presented at the highest level.

And that matters.

Because when women are included in shaping the future of a nation, everyone benefits.
